  • 06/18/2026 – Type This Into Claude To Make $1000 This Weekend – Patrick Dang

When I used to be a 9 to-5 employee working in sales, I used to think that I would need five or 10 years of experience before I could even attempt building my own business. And to try to shortcut that, I bought a bunch of courses, joined coaching programs. Some were a complete waste of time, but others were actually a gamecher and allowed me to realize that instead of waiting 5 or 10 years before starting something of my own, I could get started now. So with that confidence, I actually quit my job, moved to Thailand to try to figure out how to be a digital nomad and make money online. Now, after spending an entire year and my life savings trying out business ideas, I completely failed. I had to move back in with my parents with $200 to my name. And when my back was against the wall, and I was really thinking about going back and getting a normal 9 toive job. That month, I figured out how to make my first $,000 online. And I snowballed this side hustle into building a real online business where I have over 380,000 YouTube subscribers and I’m making over $100,000 a month. And what I want to show you in this video is if I were starting over and I wanted to make my first,000 over the weekend, knowing what I know now, this is exactly what I would do. And with tools like AI and Claw doing majority of the work for you, it’s never been a better time to be starting your own thing. And even one of my clients, Sandy, six months ago, she was just a insurance sales manager working for somebody else. And now she’s making over 30K a month with her AI business. Of course, I’m going to show you how to sign clients. But first, let’s talk about why you haven’t made any money with AI yet. Now, if you’re like most people, you probably played around with Claude. You saw other YouTubers talk about it, but maybe you haven’t made a single dollar yet. And I understand because it’s confusing. Everyone’s trying to sell you a different business model and you’re not really sure which direction to go. So what I want to do is I want to lay out the landscape to show you what are the best business models you should even be considering if you are trying to start a business this weekend. Now how most people waste their weekends is this. They will pick the wrong business models. Right? So the first option they’ll think about is oh let’s do some vibecoded apps. Problem is you can’t really make money over a weekend because you got to learn how to do it. You got to build the thing. Then you got to somehow do the marketing to get users. Probably 99.9% of the apps don’t even make $100. That’s just the facts. Now option two could be, hey, maybe you want to do a faceless YouTube channel or Instagram account, right? Problem with that is there’s no real brand. There’s no real mo. You’re probably taking copyrighted material from somebody else and that’s not really a sustainable business cuz you get demonetized really quickly and anybody can just copy you. So like how can you quit your job if it’s not sustainable, right? Option three, some people are saying, “Hey, maybe you should do some Etsy templates.” The problem with that is again if anybody can do it and they can copy you, how is this going to be a long-term business? Yes, maybe you might make money for a week or two, but the opportunities will dry out pretty quick. Now, option four, what about AI drop shipping, right? Just create a store with AI and run ads. Well, number one, you got to run ads. So, how much money are you willing to burn to learn how to do this? Number two, it takes so much skill set to do this and there’s so much competition already, it’s very difficult for a beginner to get started. And the biggest problem I see with all these business models people are talking about is that it’s not leaning into your natural skills, knowledge, and experiences. All of them require you to learn a lot of new skills and compete with people who are super good at what they do. So, how can you expect to compete when they’re already so far ahead? And the other con of these models I mentioned is it requires a lot of upfront work before you can even make a single dollar. You got to build all these things and you don’t even know if somebody will buy. But what if I said there was a way for you to sell before you have to build anything? Before I started making money online and doing pretty well for myself, I was just a 9-5 employee, right? And I was trying to figure it out, trying all these different models. I tried a faceless Instagram account. I tried making apps. I even tried a matcha pop-up store. All these things pretty much lost me money and waste of my time. So, I remember during this time, I probably was about like 25 years old, living with my parents, ran out of money, $200 to my name, and I was like, “Dang, do I really have to go back and get a normal job because like it would be such a waste that I spent all my life savings and had nothing to show for it, right?” That moment, I had this epiphany where I realized that if I can get a job and make six figures because I was good at sales, right? That’s what they taught me at my job. instead of going back to a job and working for somebody else, why don’t I just take the same skill that I had and just sell it to other people online? And so what I did was I packaged that sales knowledge. I turned it into courses and coaching and I started selling it. And through that process, within the first month, I made my first $1,000 online and I just kept going building my YouTube channel, building my brand to eventually I’m at over 100K per month practically doing the same thing. Now, not only did I sell the skill that I had from my job, but as I was learning new skills like content marketing, YouTube, personal branding, I just kept learning new things and selling it online. So, I’ve realized you can sell the skills that you have because if an employer is willing to pay for those skills, then you can sell it to somebody else. And you can also sell new skills and skills that you desire to acquire. So, you’re not trapped in the box. And something I always believed is every employee is kind of like an entrepreneur, but you only have one client, right, which is your boss. And because you don’t have the leverage, you can’t just charge higher prices. You can’t just leave. And all the things required to start a business, they don’t teach you because they want to keep you trapped. Now, real quick, if you want to go more in depth on how to build your business with AI from finding your business idea, how to reach out to clients, how to build a personal brand so clients come to you, and most importantly, how you can actually close deals. I want to invite you to a 3-day live training where I’m going to show you all these steps in depth. We’re going to show you how to do all these things, even if you’re super busy with a 9 to-ive job. And I’m also going to give you some of my best claw skills as a special bonus. And if you’re someone that lacks a little confidence and you wonder if any decision maker would even want to talk to you or let alone buy anything from you, I’m going to be doing a live sales roleplay onto live training to show you exactly how you should be selling your products and services. Even if you’re just getting started and you don’t have any customer testimonials or proof quite yet, this is the exact process I’ve taken many of my clients to from 0 to 10K per month. So, if that sounds interesting to you, check the link in description. Sign up for your spots before they run out and I will see you live. So at this point you might have two questions. The first one is how can you do this too? And the second is how can you get AI to do 90% of the work for you? So now let’s talk about the number one business model that nobody is talking about. Now the quickest way to generate a sustainable income online is really to sell a skill. Cuz if you ever worked a 9 toive job, you’re actually already selling your skills for money. And most of the time you’re getting paid to learn, right? Sometimes you go into a job, you don’t have any experience, and they’re like, “All right, we’ll pay for your time. We’ll teach you everything you need to know to do well.” And like I was saying earlier, every employee is basically an entrepreneur with one client, right? You just don’t have the leverage yet. And what employers don’t teach you is they don’t teach you how to sell that skill outside your company, which is why you’re trapped in your situation. But the reality is you actually have a lot of skills. You just don’t know how to get in front of people. Now, here is where it gets crazy with AI, and I’m going to introduce you to the idea of an AI powered service. Now, you might be wondering, okay, everything sounds cool, Patrick, but what exactly is an AI powered service? The simplest way to think about it is you already have a skill that you’re getting paid for, whether it’s sales, marketing, copywriting, finance, right? Whatever it is that you’re doing at your job, now what you’re doing is you’re using tools like Claw to do 90% of the work for you. Cuz as you know, all the big companies are laying off employees, right? because AI is doing the work. But this is how you take advantage of this kind of tragic situation. If you can sell a skill and you get AI to do the work, you can sell that skill as a service for, let’s say, 2.5K to $5,000 plus. I have clients doing like $20,000 deals. Really just depends on what your skill is. And you can sell it to businesses all over the world as long as you have a laptop and internet connection, right? How I like to think about it is you it’s your job to find the client and to understand what they want and to understand how to deliver a good service. Then you use tools like AI and get Claude to really do all the hard work, right? So you’re doing 10% of the work. Let’s say you’re just managing it. Claude is doing 90%. So let me give you some examples. So if you took a skill, you combine it with Claude, you have a unique business idea. So let’s say your 9 to5 skill is you’re in sales and business development. You combine that with Claude and you can sell a service, let’s say doing AI outbound, right? You know, reaching out to clients, whether it’s cold email, LinkedIn, Upwork, it doesn’t really matter as long as the client’s willing to pay for it. And you could charge somewhere between 2,000 to even more than $5,000 a month for this service. Why would they pay? Because if you help them get a client and that client’s worth, let’s say, 20K and they’re only paying you three, it’s a really good return on investment for them, right? Or let’s say you have a copywriting skill set or some kind of marketing or content skill set. Well, what if you just took those marketing skill sets, you went to different founders on LinkedIn and you sold some kind of content system where you create their content on their behalf. Ghostwriting, carousels, infographics, you get them the views and then they monetize it. Of course, they’re going to pay for that because it’s basically free money in a sense where you’re generating them traffic. Now, what if you’re a designer or a creative type, right? You can sell any kind of AI design systems. So, one of my clients, Sean, right? I helped this person go from zero to building his own AI business. And he has a client where they had humans creating these PowerPoint slides, right? And they’re paying these humans thousands of dollars every single month. And there’s multiple of them. And they’ve been trying to figure out how to like replace these guys with AI. They just couldn’t figure it out. So, he just came in, sold the service around, hey, I’m going to use Claw to make your PowerPoints so that your humans don’t have to do it. And it’s going to save you so much time, so much money. and he’s getting paid like two to threek a month just making powerpoints for these people. And he had no experience doing these powerpoints. He just figured it out based on the problem that the company has. What I’m saying is any service where a human is doing it, right? They’re physically doing the labor nowadays AI can do the rest. Now, I know some of you guys might be thinking, “Okay, that makes sense. But why would a company that’s already big, they have employees, and they’re making money, why would they pay you, a complete stranger, to solve their problem? Especially if they can probably do it themselves. So, let me let you in on a little secret. Even though these companies might be techsavvy, they might have smart employees, it doesn’t always mean they can figure it out by themselves. I have a client, for example, Sandy. six months ago. She didn’t know anything about AI, nothing about Claude, okay? And I showed her how to do some outreach and sales, and she found a client who was looking to make these SEO blog posts, okay? In multiple languages. She didn’t know anything about SEO. She didn’t know anything about Claude, but she sent them a Loom video explaining, “Hey, I saw your post on Upwork. Here’s my solution to your problem. Would love to jump on a call.” They jumped on a call. I told her what to say, and she just confidently said, hey, I understand your problem. I’m going to solve it. She didn’t have to give any references. She didn’t have to give previous examples. She just gave a diagram of what she would do. And that was enough for them to pay $3,300 a month to get started. Now, with the money, Sandy basically took that 3K, found other people to actually build this infrastructure. And then she really just manages it. And so now she spends 20 minutes a day making these blog posts. They actually work. They convert. The company’s making money off of the work that she’s doing even though it’s her first time doing it. And Claude’s doing such a good job, they bumped the paid to $5,500. And then she eventually snowballed that success into a YouTube channel. And now she has 30,000 subscribers on YouTube when literally just a couple months ago she had 200. She’s making over 30K a month with her AI side hustle. So my point is, you don’t have to be an expert in anything. AI is so new that if you have the drive to figure it out and use these new technologies, you can just solve the problem and get paid. You don’t have to build anything beforehand. You don’t have to really show that much proof. You just need to be able to get in front of somebody, sell them, get the money, and build the thing. Now, hopefully I inspired you to show you like, hey, this is actually possible to sell these AI powered services. So, the next step of the process is how do you find your unique AI powered service that you can be selling? Now, I want to first start with why it feels so hard to stick with a business idea. I’ve worked with a lot of people and I help them start their businesses from, you know, a 9 to5 employee to doing their own thing, right? I noticed that a lot of people don’t get started not because they’re not smart. It’s more because they have a fear of failing. A lot of people can’t commit to an idea for a couple months because they need to know for sure that it will work, right? The reality is you will not know for sure if something will work. You have to try it. You have to fail to learn in order to find out which path makes the most sense for you. So just expect to fail in order to succeed. The second is people have this fear of running a business they hate, right? Like they wonder if I succeed, what if I don’t like it, right? What if I’m making so much money but I put myself into a job? I understand that. But in order for you to even have a taste of freedom to know if this is for you, you have to at least try. So don’t let these fears stop you from just taking action. Just do the work. And then once you find some success, you can pivot. You can change things. But if you don’t have the time and money to even get to that point, then you’re just psyching yourself out and you you’ll be stuck as an employee forever. Let me show you a technique on how I teach all my clients to overcome this fear, right? I’m going to show you how to pick an idea that has the highest chance of success. And we’re going to be using your skills, knowledge, and experience. I’m also going to show you how to use this eeky guy method. It’s a Japanese concept to help you find your reason for being. And I’m going to make sure that we are cashing in on your passions, things you’re actually interested in. Okay, so the eek guy works like this. It is your reason for being. It’s a Japanese concept that’s been around for a while, right? And it’s just the overlap between what you love, what the world needs, what you’re good at, and what you can be paid for. You find this intersection, you’re going to be able to basically sell a service and make some money. So, I actually have a free gift for you where you can actually find your eeky guy using Claude. All you have to do is go into the link in description, download my free Claude skill, double click it, and then it can install onto your computer in like 5 seconds. Once you go into claude, you type in / PD eeky guy AI and then it will say, “Hey, let’s help you find your profitable business idea and it’s going to walk you through an entire exercise where it asks you a bunch of questions to understand who you are and will match your skills, knowledge, and experience with what people are paying for right now. Now, to give you a glimpse on what is the output after you enter all the questions, it’s going to give you this really nice report, right? It’s the eeky guy report where I already went ahead and just put in some information uh similar to what my clients are looking for to get make it as realistic as possible. And then this is what it’s going to give you, right? It’s going to give you a whole report on who do you help, how do you help them, how you going to make some money, right? So, it already came in with, okay, based on your skill sets and the idea that we have, it’s validated 84 out of 100, you can charge this amount. Um, and how does it actually work, right? So in this example, we have a girl named Maya. Worked at, you know, tech companies in the past doing marketing and now she wants to start her own thing, right? So we combined what she loves, what she’s good at, what the world needs, what she can be paid for, put it all together. And in this example, her eeky guy is going to be helping businesses with ghostriting, helping founders get their message out, specifically helping B2B SAS founders who have funding and money. They want to build a personal brand to get more users and recruit more people, but they’re just not good at content. So, it’s going to show you like where the opportunity is, where the underserved market is, so you don’t have to compete with other people who are better than you. It’s even going to do research and find all your competitors, what their pricing. So, that’s going to help you figure out if this is a validated offer or not. It’ll explain to you why this particularly works for you given how you answer the eeky guy questions. And of course, you know, this whole report is really in depth from the different pricings, how you can actually deliver on these services using AI, what is the deliverable, what do people want, whether it’s copyrightiting, carousels, like you name it. It basically does all the research for you. So you have a very clear idea of which direction to go. And why this is so powerful is because number one, it’s using your skills, knowledge, and experience. So it’s a unique business idea specifically for you. And the chance of it working is significantly higher because you can see there’s already other people selling it. It’s validated. But the eeky guy skill that I’m giving you is going to help you find different angles to differentiate so that you don’t have to compete in a bloody red ocean. So if you want this eeky guy skill for yourself, check the link in the description for that free download. This is literally what I give to my paid clients and I’m giving it to you for free. Now once you have your eeky guy, the next natural step is going to be how do you actually get clients? The biggest mistake beginners make is that they’re always chasing clients, right? When you reach out to people, whether it’s on LinkedIn, Upwork, cold email, right? Nobody knows who you are. A lot of times beginners will get burned out because they’ll be like, “Oh, I sent 200 messages and nobody responded.” And the problem with that is you’re chasing. Okay? Instead of chasing, you want to build a garden. You want to go to where demand is and you want to find people who have a problem you can solve and just show them that you’re going to solve it. Right? A lot of times people will have this random business idea and they try to force it onto people but nobody cares instead of thinking so selfishly on what you want to see in the world and what you want to sell. Think about what do other people want and just give them what they want. All right, it’s just reverse thinking. And in my opinion, the easiest way to get started is actually to just use LinkedIn, DM people who are going to be a good fit for your products and services and just see if they want to get on a call. If you can get them on a call, you can sell them, connect with them. It’s way easier to sell, right? You can do this even if you have a 9 toive job. And yes, highlevel decision makers do respond all the time, even if you’re just getting started with no credibility. And no, you don’t need a ton of credibility to get responses. And you might say, it can’t be that simple, right? You can’t just like reach out to a CEO and they’re going to respond. The thing is, it is that easy. So here’s some proof within my founder X community where I essentially help people who have 9 toive jobs transition to build their own businesses. Matthew, for example, he recently started like less than a month ago with me. He shared in the channel like, “Hey guys, want to share a quick win? Got my first client through LinkedIn outbound. It really works. I just had to stay consistent and target the right people.” And everyone’s like, “Yeah, let’s go.” And this is someone who’s never really done it before, starting a brand new business with no case studies. Another client, Melissa, you’re not going to read the whole thing, but essentially, she learned LinkedIn outbound from my program. She just started reaching out to people. She doesn’t even have an offer yet. She doesn’t even know what she’s going to sell. and somebody actually responded and they’re gonna have a call next week and now I got to, you know, go on a coaching call with her and tell her like, you know, what to say on the call in order to, you know, sign the client even if she doesn’t have an offer, right? And I have another client, Allison, who recently just signed a AI automation deal, helping someone with their ERP systems. Really just getting started in the space to be honest. And she quit her job just like, you know, a few months ago. And uh she’s getting paid upfront 2.3K and then 3.9K, you know, recurring revenue to upkeep all the things that she’s building for them. And all these people are doing cold outbound DM. They barely have a personal brand. They’re maybe posting like one piece of content every other day and they’re getting like five likes. Decision makers with a lot of money still respond. So if they can do it, and I’m giving you so many multiple examples, why can’t you? Now, the key to making this work is you want to snipe, right? If you ever played any video games before like Counter Strike or Valerant, you know how there’s those snipers that just like take a shot and kill. That’s what you want to do, right? You don’t want to be like an Uzi, like you’re just spraying everybody like spray and prey cuz you’re going to miss, right? So, how I think about it is most beginners, they fail because they try to hit a,000 people, make a big list, oh, I’m going to go after all the real estate agents and then nobody responds. Instead, you want to succeed by targeting specific people with high buying intent and just get them to respond in the DMs. And the key to making this work is you’re going to use AI to find all these buying signals. So, let me show you how you can do this on cloud. So, I have a special cloud skill where it allows me to build lists, right? And if I want to sell LinkedIn ghost writing services, you know, creating content for founders on LinkedIn SAS companies, I would say, “Hey, make me a list of 10 SAS founders uh for ghostwriting services. I want to target these AI founders and agency related founders and I want you, Claude, to help me figure out which signals make the most sense for this kind of person so I can do some LinkedIn outbound, right? Use my eeky guy. So, I’ll use the eeky guy I showed you before to match, you know, to make sure the customers are ideal fit for the offer that I have. Score each lead one out of 10. So once I use cloud, what it’s going to do is it’s going to give me the signals, right? So these are all the high intense signals. So if somebody checks all these boxes, they’re a B2B company, they have 11 to 200 employees, meaning they have money, series A or B, right? Raise funds, the CEO, they’re hiring for content people, you know, they’re US-based tech, you know, all these different criteria, which Claude actually does all the work to find them. The chance of them responding is really high. So within Claude, what’s going to happen is it’s going to create a list, right? So, it’s going to give you a score, tell you how hot they are, uh, first name, last name, role, you know, website, all this kind of stuff, so you can find their LinkedIn and reach out to them. Now, if you want this list building skill, I’m going to give it to you for free as a bonus gift uh with the link in description. So, not only will you get the eeky guy skill, but I’ll give you this list building skill as well. And again, it’s something I usually reserve for clients, but for you watching this, I will give it to you for free. So, obviously, you’re going to reach out to these people, agitate their pain, show you have a solution, and try to get them on a call just like how my clients did. Now, if you want to go more in depth on exactly what to say, the messages and all that kind of stuff, make sure to sign up for our free live training where I can show you much more over that training versus just one short YouTube video. Now, one thing I did want to cover is if you want to increase your response rate on LinkedIn or code email or whatever, you got to be building your personal brand. And the simplest way to do it is really just to start on LinkedIn, create five pieces of content a day, um, and it will increase your response rate. You don’t have to get a bunch of likes. It’s okay. You just need to have something. One of my clients, Brandon, for example, he went from $750 a month to making over 10K a month. And you can see he specializes in a niche, which is construction and glazing. He helps him with marketing. And, you know, he’s getting like 15 likes, four likes, five likes. Like, you can still make 10K a month with this kind of engagement if you have the right offer. Now, I want to show you a really cool way to be making content, especially when it comes to LinkedIn and images and videos. So, I’ve been using Higsfield, which is actually a partner for this video, where I basically use it within my Claude. I don’t have to even leave Claude and I just ask it, hey, like help me create these infographics, help me create animations and carousels just to make the content so that my content on LinkedIn could get more engagement. So, as an example, I found this diagram by Jack Butcher. You know, the idea is like, oh, like services are like customized and you got to do something for every person, then you turn it into a product where you do the same thing over and over and over for as many people as possible, right? So I thought it was a really good concept. So on claude I can just say something like use Hfield to take this concept and use my style of black, white and orange for a LinkedIn post and just literally in one prompt it created this image here where it took the original but it just made it more in my style. Right? So if you notice from my YouTube channel it’s a lot of dark background, white and orange, right? Cuz claw colors are orange. And so it just kind of in reinvented it and just like made it a little different, right? instead of whatever the other guy had, it redrrew the drawings, redo the shapes, and then adding text like services, you know, each one is custom, slower, non-scalable, and then the product is uh identical, replicable, scalable, right? So, it’s a really cool graphic that I could put on LinkedIn. So, if I did a post on here’s why you need to start productizing with AI or whatever, you know, I can add a really cool graphic to it to get more engagement. One thing you can also do with HF is you can actually animate it. So, I took the same image and then I just said, “Hey, I need you to animate that. I want to make these um this white part like move around like squiggle around. And I want the the right part to have the light going from left to right. So, it added music, but we don’t need the music for this example. And you can see this one’s moving and this one’s kind of like the the lights going to the side, right? So, if I want to turn this into more of a GIF where it just kind of loops, then it would be kind of interesting, right? And now I would need to go a little deeper to fix like the other ones. I don’t see them moving, so I have to just keep prompting it and be like, “Hey, you know, the other three aren’t moving, so can you fix that?” But you get the idea. And another cool thing is in the beginning of this video, I actually showed a b-au of a bunch of Claude robots working together, right? And this is actually from the same process of using Higsfield and Claude together. So what I did was I got my little characters which I designed using AI. I combined it with a art style that I like. So if you ever played any video games, it’s Valerant and I said, “Hey, take that kind of like handdrawn style and apply it to my characters.” Now, in order for me to actually pay an artist to do all of this, it’d probably cost thousands of dollars and especially to animate it. But I literally made the entire thing in like less than five minutes with a couple references. And now moving forward in our YouTube videos and LinkedIn content, we could always make these cool graphics, these animations really with just like a very inexpensive subscription. Now, if you want to try this for yourself and you want to, you know, play around with it, create some assets similar to me, I actually put a link in description where you can try Higsfield out for free and see if you like it. So, now that you understand how to create content and how to reach out to people, let’s next talk about what is your weekend action plan. So, if you’re trying to make your first thousand dollars over the weekend, here’s realistically what you can expect, right? Let’s say you finish work, it’s Friday night. Use the eeky guy model I showed you. Find your business idea. Next, on Saturday, you want to make a list of 50 prospect using the list building skill I gave you so you can reach out to them on LinkedIn. And you can start making content as well if you have time. Now, on Sunday, you’re going to get people accepting your request. Usually, 40% of people should accept. That’s like on average. And then you start messaging them on Sunday. Now, if you can get someone on the call the next day on a Monday or maybe the Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, whatever within the first week, and you can convince them that you can provide some kind of AI powered service, you actually could sign your first client within that first week. Now, it’s not guaranteed obviously, but the process is there if you do all the steps correctly. Now, Sandy, for example, when she was selling her SEO services, she pretty much did the same process, but she did it on Upwork. She signed her first client within the first two weeks, right? Other people that I worked with, they literally signed their first client in one week. So, depends on your skills, knowledge, and experience. Depends on how good you are at selling, but the process is there. So, will it technically take a little bit more time than the weekend? Yes. I think the weekend is a good time for you to set everything up and then as the conversations roll in, as your conversations start turning into calls, then you can actually realistically sign clients. All right. So, those are the steps for you to be starting your AI powered business this

  • 06/18/2026 – How the YouTube Dream Can Become a Diabolical Trap – Brian G Johnson TV

This video, it scares the hell out of me, but I’m making it anyway because I’ve seen too many good creators get eaten alive by YouTube. And it starts out so innocently because being a viewer is simple, enjoyable, but the moment you think about your own channel, that changes everything. You just don’t know it yet. Maybe you’ve published a few videos, barely any views, and yet still something is off. You can feel it. You can’t name it. Nobody can. I will. And by the end of this video, you won’t just feel it. You’ll understand how the YouTube dream can become a diabolical trap. So, here’s the choice. Leave now and you stay in Wonderland, where the dream is alive and anybody can make it on YouTube. Or I show you just how deep the rabbit hole goes. How good people slowly go dark. How the dream dies and slowly becomes a trap. Too many never escape. Stay and I’ll show you all of it and the way out because there is one. And it starts so small. forever. You thought about picking up the guitar until one day finally you find yourself in a guitar shop, credit card in hand, and and you make it happen. You begin playing a week, maybe a month, and then slowly it drifts to the corner until eventually you put it away. Out of sight, out of mind. That’s the thing about the guitar. You can always put it away. But YouTube, no way. YouTube is a totally different animal. You don’t have to go to the guitar shop. YouTube is with you. It never leaves you. It’s on your phone. And when you’re not using it, where is it? It’s in your pocket. It’s on the desk. It’s right next to you. You can’t even go to the bathroom without your phone. And YouTube. Get home, flip on the TV, and it’s the first thing you click. And And that’s the thing that makes YouTube diabolical. It’s the thing you can’t escape. And the second you start wanting it, that changes everything. You’re not just watching to relax anymore. You’re you’re not watching for fun. And the thing you turn to for joy now pokes at you as you watch others build the thing you keep putting off. And that same thought creeps in yet again. Goodness, sure would be great to have my own channel. It used to be a nice thought, but the more you watch, the louder it gets. It becomes a burden and that’s how the trap is set with the thought you cannot put down. And this is just the beginning. YouTube, the platform itself, this is where it really gets its hooks in you. It grabs you without a threat, but a promise. I mean, who doesn’t want to make money posting videos? Be your own boss. Walk away from your 9 to5. And it’s one of the simplest business ventures out there. Your phone, an idea, a simple video you upload to YouTube. And the result, lifechanging job ending money. And it’s real. Real people making real money walking away from the job they hate. That’s the dream. But nobody shows you the other side. You jump in regardless, finally finding the nerve to publish a video that gets 200 views and the dread begins to creep in. How could it not? You poured so much into this and yet almost nobody saw it. Almost 90% of all videos published to YouTube will never reach 1,000 views. And it only gets heavier with so much to learn. titles, topics, thumbnails, cameras. Is my phone enough? Absolutely overwhelming. And then there’s the analytics making you feel like a failure. Open YouTube Studio. The first thing you see is your latest video performance. Not a welcome, not a that a boy. 18 different ways you’re failing. And this time, you actually did the thing. The thing you kept hearing about. You improved your CTR. and your watch time. And yet the video 10 out of 10, dead last, total failure. And this is where the hopelessness sets in because you can’t look away. One metric after another building the same case. Not good enough, never will be. And yet they never show you the fix what to do. Now the numbers can bury a video, but they can’t bury you. And yet it keeps coming at you. And the thing that really stings, everybody has an answer. And to be fair, this video too. Let’s talk about the creators. And I want to give it to you straight. The thing that would be easy is to say they’re all gurus. And I hate that because the word has become weaponized. Anyone who talks about YouTube, good, bad, or ugly, is a little bit of a guru. But what I can tell you is they come in shades. And the dark creators, they know a secret. The truth makes you click off, so they spoon feed you telling you what you want to hear. It’s not your fault. YouTube is evil and there’s nothing you can do. All problem, no solution. And they build an identity around that very thing. Sadly, you’re the one who pays the price. And I get it because I’ve been there, too. I’ve felt that struggle. Scroll the comments and that’s where the ugly begins to spread. Yeah, YouTube sucks. And the more you see it, the more it validates. And the more it validates, the more dangerous it becomes. And an identity is diabolically hard to escape. Now, before we move forward, I I want to be straight with you. This video is not about pandering. It’s not about getting more views. It’s about saying the thing that’s hard. And if that’s too much for you, here’s your chance to bail. No harm, no foul. But if there’s been something gnawing at you and not just in this video, but ever since that thought crept in, then stay because there is a way out. And yet almost nobody takes it. Still here? Good. Most won’t be. Here’s the last piece of the puzzle. It’s not the creators. It’s not the algorithm. It’s not the platform. Here’s the trap. Right now, you’re standing at a crossroads and the decision you make will seal your fate. Get it wrong and there’s no escape. Two paths, two very different directions. And this is where so many get stuck. One path, get this. You let the dream die finally, cleanly, honorably. The other, you lean in and really give it a shot. But both options are so painful and that’s the struggle. The decision is almost impossible to make. So too many stay stuck in the middle, never really making a decision, never really letting go, never really leaning in, always wondering what might have been. That’s the choice. Dodge it long enough and the middle stops being where you are. It becomes who you are. And that’s the lock. Remember those comments we spoke about earlier? You’ll see them in a video just like this. YouTube is rigged. They hate small creators. Don’t even bother. And the first time you read it, something inside of you relaxes because somebody finally said it out loud. It’s not you, it’s them. And God, it feels so good. The weight lifted right off of your chest. So you read a few more and slowly without noticing something changes. It stops being something you read and it becomes the way you see. Tell a man the room is dark long enough and he stops looking for the light. And the scary part, you can be stuck in this for years without ever realizing what’s truly happening. Dreams dying replaced by the dark. I know. I’ve been there, too. YouTube has hit me hard. This channel demonetized. 10 years on this platform. Brand deals blowing up in my face. I’ve sat in that exact spot and I’ve struggled and I’ve pointed the finger, too. I’m not proud to say that. I tell you because I want to let you know I’m not above anybody else. That’s for sure. And here’s what I finally see. Blaming YouTube, the algorithm, all of it. The blame never hands you a way out. It’s only a permission slip to stay stuck. And the longer you sit in it, the more it starts feeling like home. Sadly, some creators cross a line they can never return from. Here’s the truth. YouTube is broken. But the upside is real. life-changing money, freedom, the chance to finally be your own boss. That’s not a fairy tale. That’s truly happening right now on this platform. So, how do you actually escape the trap? You set down the thing that was never yours to carry in the first place. You can’t control the platform. Let it go. You can’t control the algorithm. And honestly, yeah, let that go, too. the advertisers, the demonetization, the new rules that change constantly, even while you’re sleeping. None of that was ever in your hands. And that’s not bad news. It’s fantastic news because the moment you let that go, you can finally see the things you do control. And that’s the one thing that’s always been yours. Whether you decide to walk away and let it go cleanly, honorably, or you decide to lean in and really give YouTube a shot, that’s your decision, the one you can make. Thing is, blaming YouTube feels good, but it’s just the door locking from the inside. Here’s the uncomfortable truth. It’s supposed to be hard. If it was easy, everybody would have a silver play button. And that’s the part we don’t get a skip. Remember the guitar, it’s simple. It’s easy. You can always put it away. But YouTube, we don’t get a pass. If it didn’t matter anymore, you would have been gone a long time ago. So, here we are back at that question we started with. Why does the YouTube dream become a diabolical trap for far too many good people? Because YouTube is hard. diabolically hard and hard brings resistance. Every time you sit down to do the work, something pushes back. So, you put it off another day and the resistance wins most of the time. That’s the entire story. But here’s the part that actually keeps you trapped. Give it enough time and it stops being a choice you can make and it becomes who you are. Your thoughts turn into actions. Your actions create habits. And it’s your habits that seal your identity. And an identity forms a hard shell that’s so hard to break free from, but you can. That’s the trap. Not the platform that sold you the dream. Not the creators who twisted the story. Yes, those are real. But those things never had the power to keep you. That power is yours. always has been. It’s not found in a setting, in a hack, or a secret. It’s finally deciding to do the thing that you want to do or letting it go. That’s the escape.

A异或B的维恩图是这样的,代表着A或者B,但不包括A和B重叠的部分。

  • You Don’t Understand The Fermi Paradox

We’ve been obsessed about aliens for a long time, but it really feels like in the last few years, the search is getting a lot more serious. We both have practical tools like the James Web Space Telescope, which allow us to search the atmospheres of other worlds. And then you’ve also got sort of an increased attention because of UAPs. You’ve got NASA, you’ve got the military, you’ve got the government looking into our aliens visiting us here on Earth. And you know, there’s no evidence that they are, but it’s an interesting question. And are we alone in the universe? Really is a scientific question that deserves an answer, and we will keep hunting for it until we find it. So, my guest today is Dr. Adam Frank. I’ve interviewed him many times in the past. He’s an author. He’s a scientist and a person who is sort of right at the heart of searching for techno signatures in the universe, trying to find evidence of alien civilizations beyond Earth. He’s got a new book called The Little Book of Aliens. And it really sort of covers the history of the search for aliens. Uh various ideas that people have and what the future might hold for our search for other life of any kind in the universe. So enjoy this interview with Dr. Adam Frank. Adam, when did we first wonder about aliens? Like when did that occur to us? Yeah. Uh a long long time ago. Um it’s really one of the oldest questions you can see humanity sort of arguing about. Um and in fact formally you can see the Greeks uh yelling at each other. Uh Aristotle had the opinion that the earth was unique particularly because he thought the earth was the center of the universe. But then Democrus and the um atomists held the position that the universe was made out of atoms and atoms were universal. Therefore there should be other planets with other life on them. So literally people have been arguing about this for 2,500 years. Occasionally they’ve burnt each other at the stake over it. So it’s been an issue that can get heated, no pun intended, or maybe a puns intended, but it’s a really it’s an ancient ancient human question. But like our modern conception of other planets around other stars with life forms existing, like when did that start to sort of creep into our collective consciousness, do you think? Yeah, that’s a good question and that you know it’s funny after my you know sort of 30 years of you know doing astronomy and sort of keeping the question of uh alien life on other planets in the back of my head um it’s only recently that I started to really with these last two books particularly the new book obviously the little book aliens um that I started to really look at the history of it and I think it’s around the 17th century after Newton and people started to get a better idea of how to do the physics of stars the physic at least you know just conceiving them as as other sons even if we didn’t really know what was powering the sun. Um you see like in the in the 16th century there is um a bunch of books that are written often with the title of the many worlds hypothesis or something along those lines where you see people actually thinking about stars and planets going around them and the possibility of life on them. So it’s really 1600s 1700s is you you get a birth of new what we might call alien uh optimism that there is the possibility of life out there. So uh that and that that you know maintains until you get to evolution the theory of evolution and then people start asking well is life really going to form on these other worlds and what’s remarkable is actually by the 1900 by the early 1900s because people thought astronomers thought that planets were going to be difficult to form people were pretty pessimistic about the possibility of life in the universe. Do people fundamentally misunderstand the Fermy paradox like what Fermy was really getting at? I I think well there’s you know what as I talk about in the book there’s really two different Fermy paradoxes and they get deployed in different ways. The first Fermy paradox is the one I think he actually meant when he was, you know, talking over lunch and suddenly, you know, blurted out where are they? And what Fermy realized that day was that even if you had a space fairing race that was moving at a tenth of the speed of light, could travel between the stars at a tenth of the speed of light, that they would be able to cover the entire galaxy, basically settle every world in the galaxy in a very short time scale relative to the history of the galaxy. So that’s what we call the direct firmy paradox. But the one that people get confused about is what we, you know, what I call the indirect firmy paradox. People have this idea that like every night astronomers are pointing their radio telescopes at the stars and searching for life and that we’ve never found any. That that we’ve done some kind of extensive search for signals of aliens and we’ve never found them. And that is completely wrong. And the and the reason it’s completely wrong is so mundane is that there’s never been any money to do those searches. So very little searching has been done. Um so that that’s really the that that’s the the problem with that one. So people think that we’ve searched and we haven’t looked and the qu the reality is we’ve never really really searched. Do you think that that Fermy understood how feasible it would be for an advanced civilization to settle the galaxy? You know what’s interesting about the Fermy paradox is probably Fermy never thought about it again after that lunch conversation. Yeah. Right. Um it was really heart in 1975. So this idea of the firmy paradox kind of floated around people you know were it was it was very much in the gray literature as we call it but then it was um Hart uh who in the 1975 who wrote a paper that sort of formalized the Fermy paradox as a paradox and Hart used it you know the logic of Hart’s uh reasoning uh which I describe in the book goes basically that look uh if in there’s so many stars there should be lots of intelligent life If even one of those species uh was able to propagate, you know, was able to travel through the universe, then they should have covered the entire univer or the entire galaxy by now and we don’t see anybody here. Therefore, there’s no other intelligent life. Like that was the b way he based his logic. So he certainly thought uh that it was possible to colonize to settle other worlds that uh and then there’s this idea of the Vonoyman probes that you know maybe it’s machines that are doing this. It doesn’t have to be biological critters. It could be just automated probes that are hopping from one uh solar system to the other consuming resources to build the next version of themselves and then hopping to the next solar system. So I think the people other people thought about this more uh more generally and you know the the Fermy parad that the direct fermy paradox does have some issues about it and we’ve written some papers I think you and I even talked about it one time um some of the paper that we did but it’s really the indirect firmy paradox that I think is the one that people misunderstand most of all because we’re just about ready to really search for life like now there’s finally funding and there’s a community and we have you know it’s not SEI anymore I don’t even really want to use that term SEI anymore because to me That refers to a one part of of what I would call technos signature science. That heart paper lives rentree in my brain for sure. That that is really his those arguments are devastating. Yeah. Yeah. And so like if if if there was a counterfactual and the aliens were inhabiting the cosmos, what would that look like? What would we see a as for a bustling cosmos? Uh we would probably see uh well that’s it’s that’s a really interesting question that we can ask like if there were a b you know if there really was life or many places then a would we expect to already be colonized? you know, would we expect to have would should we should we find ancient monuments or something ancient, you know, let’s um uh or should they be here right now, which of course if you’re into UFOs, you say they are here right now. Um so just a couple points on that. So as we discussed you that paper that we wrote a few years back where we simulated the the settlement of the of the galaxy we found that you there’s one question of how long it takes to to settle the solar system but then there’s the question of the steady state like once you’ve settled the whole or not the solar system the galaxy once you’ve settled the galaxy then what happens if every settlement has a finite lifetime which you know settlements nothing lasts forever right then you can end up big holes. You can have regions die off and they can remain unsettled for millions, hundreds of millions of years. That’s what we found. So, it’s possible that we’re living in a bubble that that you know, one way out of the Fermy paradox is we’re living in one of those unsettled bubbles and eventually they’ll come through again. You know, there might have been one here billions of years ago. And as we showed in that paper with Gavin Schmidt, there’s no way to tell if there was a civilization, a technological civilization here uh on Earth a billion years ago that may that lasted 10,000 100,000 years, all evidence would be gone. So that’s an important point when thinking about that the direct Fermy paradox. So to your question, what would it look like? That’s an interesting let’s assume that we live in one of these bubbles. So that’s why there’s no one here right now. Would we be able to tell that the the galaxy was bustling? um you might try and look for their communication signals. They’re, you know, you what you’re going to want to look for are inadvertent um uh indications that they exist. So, you know, maybe they’re using radio uh to communicate and maybe we’d be able to pick up their signals. Um maybe they’re using tight beam laser because that’s actually probably the best way to really communicate across, you know, large distances even across solar systems. Um cuz it you know radio if you’re beaming it out w to you know wide uh widely you have so much you need so much power to be able to still be heard a long way away. Uh so we might be able to pick up those kinds of things. We might be able to see their drives the propulsion whatever they’re using if they’re using these giant phased uh laser arrays to push solar panel or or light sails around. We might be able to see that. But it’s also possible that with the technology we have right now that we’re not sensitive enough to detect that. So it’s possible they could be everywhere except here. Uh but we don’t yet have the uh capacity to find it. But of course we are developing that technology so quickly that in 10 20 30 years maybe we would be able to detect a drive plume. But it’s been theorized that that the universe was habitable from about say 6 billion years ago. And so alien civil, you know, advanced civilizations have had a 6 1/2 billion year head start on us. So if there is a vibrant civilization, vibrant multiple civilizations of aliens in the cosmos and they are reaching, you know, they’ve had billions of years of technological progress to turn what is a wilderness of the cosmos into, you know, the the I guess the cosmos equivalent of a of a city, whatever is the end state of of settlement. What would that look like? Yeah. God, that’s cool. The the question though, but that so there there’s there’s a bunch of sub questions there that, you know, we take on in in in in my research group, we take on quite a bit and in the book I really try and unpack which is can you even have a contiguous civilization for billions of years? Right? So we we sort of have this assumption that civilizations, you know, become advanced and then somehow they’re they’re eternal. Um, and that part I really wonder about that that whether or not you can hold a single culture, right? Whatever civilization they’re going to have is is going to have some kind of culture, whatever version of that. And for billions of years, could you would it be one civilization or would it be a series that rise and fall Allah Isaac Azimov’s foundation? Um, yeah. Or or think about Baghdad, right? Like how many people have have set up in that region and built city after city on the bones of the previous city. Right. Right. And that’s exactly what I wonder about whether or not I mean a fully settled galaxy, something like, you know, in in in Foundation, you know, where Trantor is the imperial capital. Uh then yes, you would expect all all of these worlds to have been to have settlements on them or at least the ones that are economically viable, the ones that you can do something with. You probably are not going to settle on worlds where uh there’s nothing for you to do. Uh you know, life life the most important requirement of life is to keep on living. So these worlds have to be useful to them in what ways? And so this also raises the question of would they even after if a civilization lasts millions and it’s advanced would it even be biological anymore right would they even you know and if they’re not biological if they become uh um you know siliconbased or even if not they could become silicon based either by downloading their consciousness into that I’m not sure that’s possible or they just somebody creates AI and that’s what takes over would they even need planets anymore so That’s what’s so interesting about this question and again this is the kind of stuff I try and deal with in the book so people can see that when you start really thinking about this you got to push your imagination past you know science fiction is great because science fiction can really help us imagine the alternatives but it’s almost like you have to formalize the ideas in science fiction and systematize them to be able to evaluate which ones are more probable than others and what the physics consequences the physics biology uh consequence quences are of the different alternatives. So the idea that they’re for example that they’re only between the stars, they become they’re basically silicon and they’re only traveling between the stars. Would we have any indication that they existed if they never landed planet side? So these are you know these are the kind of questions we try and ask in my research group and the kinds of things I’m trying to explain to people in the book. I mean when we if you like take a car into a place like New York City that is a part of planet Earth that has been utterly reshaped to meet the needs of the civilization that lives there. What does that look like? Yeah. Now that’s interesting. So this is this idea this leads us to techno signatures, right? that that a a world that has been reshaped by its or not just a world like the everything a galaxy an entire the whole galaxy what what would a what would a galaxy modified for the needs of the advanced civilization it would you think would be something we could see what would we see well we might see Dyson spheres it might be that like some very large number of those stars have been harvested right that they have had um uh solar you know some kind of solar collector around them either Dyson spheres or Dyson swarms and for for your listeners who don’t know a Dyson sphere was this idea that came that Freeman Dyson came up with in 1960 very early on when he recognized that as a civilization progresses it’s going to need more energy and the best energy source that you had natural energy source that you have is a star. So perhaps advanced civilizations cover their stars or at least build spheres around these stars, the interior of which is covered with solar collectors of some form. So it so uh the idea of a of a civilization covering, you know, harvesting all of its stars energy. You can extrapolate to the next level and imagine a civilization that has access to all of its galaxies stars. So in that case you might see a galaxy that is luminous in infrared light uh without starlight without the visible starlight because these Dyson swarms are all the second law of thermodynamics tells us you can’t harvest energy without some consequence and that would be uh waste heat waste uh and which would mean glowing in the infrared. So that would be a possible uh consequence. And people like Jason Wright and others have been looking for uh uh Dyson spheres, the infrared signatures of Dyson spheres. And it’s interesting like with with Jason’s latest paper, he kind of dismantled the the original expectations of that. You know, the thought is well, it makes sense to build a sphere that is at the orbit of the Earth, but actually that’s not the most energyefficient, massefficient way to do it. In fact, you want to build something small close to the star, be efficient with your materials. And you and and another idea going around was whether you need to have shells that are at different distances harvesting the waste heat from each other. And his calculations were no. So just one tight sphere harvesting as much energy before the thing actually starts to melt, right? And you’re getting the maximum amount of energy out of that star with the minimum amount of matter invested. And like I think about this in my imagination like if a an advanced civilization maybe it’s AI wanted to optimize their reachable universe into whatever form gave them the most value they could possibly do what you know what would that look like right cuz then you’re moving stars you are tearing stars apart you are feeding stars to black holes to get the most efficient outcome uh you are using computing substrate at whatever is the right distance. You are moving planets to pack them into habitable zones. Like that seems dramatic in the way that flying to space on Earth, you look down at night and you’re like, “Okay, I see city lights.” Right. Right. It’s hard to miss. Yeah. And that’s the thing that kind that level of astroengineering uh is is extraordinary and how the degree to which any civilization reaches that. But I don’t think necessarily that we have to go there or you know I mean because one of the things that we have to do in the field is as I said try and systematize what the trajectories of civilizations are and that means you have to sort of lay out all the possibilities of technology and technological development and then what the consequences of those would be as well as the some sense of the social forms that would uh um that might mitigate that because it’s not clear that everybody would want to do that that would you know that we have this sense we live in this very interesting brief moment of human history where we’ve had this amazing acceleration right that that you know we’ve gone from the Wright brothers flying in 1903 to a helicopter on Mars in 2023 but you know most of human history was a much flatter uh development of technology and you can even see that now the fastest somebody could go an average person could go in 19 uh60 60 was about 500 mph on a jet plane. The fastest an average person can go right now is about 500 miles on a jet plane. Technology can definitely stall. So I think we have to be careful about uh this idea that you know it’s going to go on forever that there’s infinite amounts of technological progress which will give us infinite amount of god-like powers. I think it’s possible and that’s one trajectory but another trajectory is that things stall out and you have relatively stable forms of technology that are used to you know astroengineer or populate planets to or that planets have to enter into some kind of sustainable state with their the e with their biospheres. So all of those possibilities are the kinds of things that we have to understand when we try and imagine both the trajectories of civilizations but also what it is we’re looking for because we’re so close now to being able to look for it. I mean we can now JWST is right on the hairy edge of being able to detect say chlorofluorocarbons you know an industrial chemical in you know a trap on one of those trappist planets but I mean isn’t this kind of cognitive dissonance because like on the one hand let’s say the aliens have had a 6 billion year head start on us and then on the other hand we don’t see we clearly don’t see the evidence of them reshaping the universe at the vastest scale and then you say well be but maybe people don’t want to do do that. But then you say, “Well, but maybe the grabby aliens always want to.” And you go back and forth. And it feels to me like the universe that we see is whatever the universe can be at maximum. That we’ve reached our max. We’ve had 6 billion years. We’ve reached our maximalist state right now. We’ve seen whatever is possible in the same way that we have seen essentially the maximum amount of the spread of life on Earth. The Earth life’s everywhere. It’s it’s in the bottom of 10 km bore holes. It’s it’s trapped under the ice in Antarctica. It’s floating 30 kilometers above the surface of the Earth. It’s in every extreme environment that’s possible. Life has found a way to get in there and and exploit whatever it can, right? And and and so like on the one hand we say, “Well, we don’t see that. So maybe, you know, they just haven’t gotten around it and whatever.” And then on the other hand, people say, “Well, we sure can.” Like there’s no reason why we can’t. I let’s build our warp drives and let’s get on it. But it feels like like whatever is possible for us in the universe has already been tried and that’s our future. Yeah. I don’t I don’t think I you know that that doesn’t resonate with me a lot just because also the big assumption there is civilizations la civilizations last contiguously for billions of years. That’s the thing I’m probably most suspicious of. Um I think that that civil I don’t it’s not clear to me that you can get civilizations lasting for such long times and that there is this infinite uh expansion of technologies that there may really you know we already know like with the speed of light right the speed you know it’s it’s entirely possible that there’s no warp drive like sorry warp drives are just not possible we’d all like them to be possible but they’re just not and you think about that think about what that actually implies let’s just take that if warp drives are if you’re stuck with the speed of light then it’s actually becomes and and your biology is such that you don’t last for thousands of years then suddenly even even smallcale interstellar civilizations become very difficult and so this is something I really unpacked in the book because I found it really fascinating how do you have diplomacy when it takes a hundred years you know if it’s just you and a and a star that’s 100 light years away that’s your that’s the you know you have three star say you have three planetary systems 100 lighty years away every interaction ction takes 200 years. You send him a message like, “Hey, how you doing?” You know, 200 years later, good. You know, so it’s like the idea of a civilization that could marshall its forces that could um bind itself together to to to carry out activities together becomes really difficult to imagine how that might happen. So that’s why the thing that the reason why that doesn’t resonate with me so much, this the idea that you’re you’re uh asking for, though it’s entirely possible, right? because we could talk about the ways it would be possible, but is that I really question what it means to be a longived civilization and and I’m not sure you get one longived civilization and whether or not you can really have interstellar truly interstellar civiliz everybody’s a one-off a planet oneoff you know but you look at a place like London you know before it was London it was Londinium and before that it was a settlement like it’s a useful place people have been improving it as a location and then various civilizations have been using that improved location over time. So you may not get one continuous civilization, but you are at least getting an imp overall improvement of the environment or a changing of the environment by these these people. So I mean for me it it feels like there must be some fundamental reason that we haven’t discovered yet why expanding beyond our star system makes sense. And like the arguments that people make about like in the future you’re going to turn all of Jupiter into Computronium and you’re going to, you know, and then in fact it’s the lag that kills you. Like as soon as you have to spend a second of lag that’s, you know, then the alien supercomputers are going to be losing on their online gaming and they’re not going to stand for that. And so they’re just not going to want to to build any kind of compute substrate that that has ping times that are just too long. they they’re not willing to leave the system because like who wants the lag? That’s that’s terrible. That that that feels to me like a reasonable explanation that that everyone will always realize that it’s actually best to stay home. Yeah. And I think that’s you know and I can see that happening on different levels. It’s best to stay home because really leaving home is super expensive and very difficult and you know you lose contact with them almost immediately, right? they they you send a century ship to um Alpha Centuri or whatever and they start a civilization and then that civilizations drift. They become very different from each other. So it’s not like you’re you know the um the the United Colonies or the United Planet, United Federation of Planets. each one becomes its own separate thing and has its own separate uh so I think that that’s in I consider that to be a real possibility that um it’s just so you know um um interstellar travel may just be really difficult so you may have you know the whole galaxy may be full of civilizations but they’re not interstellar civilizations they’re interplanetary like you look at our own our own future right the next should we make it through climate change and all the other things that we have to deal with I can imagine the every nook and cranny of the solar system being inhabited, right? We wrote this paper a little while ago asking about could you take asteroids and spin them up and and then live on the inside of them. So, you know, that’s I think that’s entirely feasible and that’s something that may be possible in a few hundred years. But so, so you can imagine that solar systems get completely inhabited and there’s lots of ways to find evidence techno signatures from from solar system engineering. Uh there’s an idea that we’ve been exploring called service worlds that you know if you want to harvest a lot of energy don’t put don’t cover half the earth with solar panels cover the moon with sever solar panels because you’re not using the moon right or that’s where you put your dangerous u industry and such. So you know there may every every civiliz every every um system that has a technological civilization go look at the planets that or the moons that that you know those are the ones to focus on. That’s where the industry is going to be. So I can it’s it’s easier for me to conceive of lots and lots of solar systems than that are each h inhabited then and then a galactic empire. We’ve already found the best planet in the universe for us earth. You mean that earth is earth is yeah well no I think there’s probably I mean I wouldn’t imagine I people talk about these sort of super earth or super habitability. So I’m not sure that we we found the best one for us, right? Yes. Uh yeah. And we just recently wrote a paper Amado and I just wrote a paper about oxygen that maybe you know for technology you really need an oxygen-rich atmosphere because without it you’re not going to be able to have combustion and without combustion how do you get that was a really interesting paper. I I love that kind of thing where you just someone just like, “Well, what about this?” And you’re like, “Oh, yeah.” Yeah. You know, the octopuses are going to have a hard time starting fire underwater. That’s right. Right. Water worlds. So, that’s what’s I mean, I can imagine a universe that is full of life, that is teeming with life, where, you know, every, you know, every liquid moon, you know, every Europa has intelligent squids doing intelligent squid things. but that we don’t have that the interstellar travel may be the really hard part and that’s isolated and that’s difficult but that life is popping up everywhere. Yeah. They’re they’re banging the rocks together and just nothing, no spark. Um so now you referenced this earlier on. You said, you know, people are thinking that maybe the people who believe in UFOs think that aliens are coming to us and that from Paradox Solved, aliens are coming here all the time. uh and there has been a real resurgence lately in this. Do you think there’s any there there? um at currently there’s no there there in the terms of of actually having data you could use right as um Mike Turner the you know one of the great particle physicists once said to me said you know with a really good scientific project you put a quarter in and you get a dollar out and the problem with UFOs is you put a quarter in and the quarter’s gone right so what we have is we have lots of stories you know often by people who you know there’s you have no reason to think that they’re lying uh or you have fuzzy blob pictures but the problem is none of those can you build a scientific theory that you you can then scaffold the next question. Right? In science you don’t just answer a question be like well we’re done that you know almost immediately your answer to that question becomes the technology that you use to answer the next question. And up to now UFOs the you know has has been a mix of narratives people seeing things fuzzy blob pictures conspiracy theories. Roswell in particular, you know, I have a whole chapter on Roswell. I went and I read the Roswell books and it after a while pretty quickly I was like, “This is a mess, right?” Um, you know, and then hoaxes, pure on hoaxes. And there, you know, Roswell has a few of those. That that very famous 1990s show, uh, Alien Autopsy. Um, I don’t know if you do you remember that one. It was ad, uh, Riker, Commander Riker was the was the narrator, and I was so disappointed in him for that. And that turned out to be a total hoax, right? It was the whole thing was filmed in some guy’s living room in Brixton, England. So, um you know, up to now, I don’t think there’s anything there there. The the narratives about the military has, you know, alien spacecraft in the uh in their garages. We’ve heard this forever, right? So, you know, in the book, I talk about um one of the first reports that came out on UFOs in the ‘ 50s. the the uh the leader of that the military leader of that uh I think it was a I think it was a captain afterwards he published a book you know after I mean after he uh retired he published a book and said there there was this report this top secret report called the estimate of the situation which claimed that aliens were or that UFOs were alien spacecraft no one’s ever found the report like after digging and digging you know the report so it’s like and the problem with this is that if you’re a scientist it just looks like a morass of of speculation and stories that you can’t do anything with. But the difference that’s happening now is I think thanks to the pilots, I think those pilots are who, you know, they’re they’re reporting what they saw. Um that there’s there’s an in there’s the kind of interest in it that may now lead to some real scientific investigation and we’ll see where that leads, right? We want to be that investigation has to be agnostic. Uh and we will see where where it leads. And I personally, you know, if there was good solid data that that linked the, you know, that that had a link between the data and the claim that these things are behaving in ways that no uh human technology can reproduce. I’m open to to changing my mind. That’s the beauty of science is it shows you how to change your mind. But at this point, it’s a, you know, it’s still a mess. And there’s really, there is nothing that out there that would warrant the conclusion that we’re being visited by extraterrestrials right now. With all of this interest both from governments as well as the military as well as NASA perhaps, you know, begrudgingly being brought into this. Um, there’s going to have to be like to get more information, more data. there’s going to have to be increased amounts of transparency, but also potentially new methods of searching. This starts to overlap into some of the other thinking that you’ve had over the years, which is like, you know, here’s some ways to look for stuff in the solar system. Here’s some ways to look for ancient civilizations on Earth. So, what do you think would be a productive way to get some serious evidence about the presence of alien civilizations here in the solar system? Yeah, I think that that’s a great question and I have a whole chapter in the book that sort of details, okay, you want to do science on UAPs, here’s what you have to do. And the important thing for that is to, you know, you’re not going to be looking to answer the question, are there aliens on Earth? You’re going to be looking to collect data about UAPs. You’re looking, you’re just looking to collect data and then analyze that data in a way that gives you the ability to uh determine the performance characteristics, right? And then from that, you’re going to have to then try and draw conclusions about is this human technology, is this not human technology. So, what you’re, you know, there’s really three options. You can build uh groundbased sensors looking up. You can put satellites that look down and you can also mount things on uh aircraft and maybe you want to do all three. Uh but the important thing and that people really especially in the UFO community often don’t understand is that unless you have fully characterized the instruments, you don’t know what you’re getting. Right? This is the problem with the radars, the military radars, is that you know unless I know when was the last time that radar was uh refurbished, what’s I need the entire history of the thing. I really need I need the machine itself and I need to have built it myself or else I just can’t trust it. And this is exactly what we do in astronomy, right? The J James Webb Space Telescope, we understand everything about its behavior. We understand how it responds to infrared light when the telescope is at 20° and we understand how it responds to infrared light when it’s at 80°, right? We know everything about it. That’s the only way that we can link the data. We can be sure of the data and that we can then link the data to a claim or a conclusion. And UFOs are no different. It’s not like UFOs get a pass on this. And so we’ll need to build those kinds of instruments uh and deploy them. And I think that’s probably going to be coming soon. I think, you know, the public is interested in this. And so, you know, we’ll we’ll do that work. We may learn some really interesting things even if we don’t learn anything about uh life in the universe. Um but that’s the only really way to do it. And the important thing to not notice is that let’s say let’s say we did all that and we found that there were certain objects that were making right-hand turns at Mach 500, right? Something that really, you know, a human powered technology can’t do. Well, what’s the what what do you do now? Like that would be stunning. And what do you do next? Well, the only thing you can do next is more science, right? Because it wouldn’t tell you what it was. It wouldn’t tell you where it was from. It would just tell you like, wow, this thing is behaving in a way that human technology can’t produce. So, you know, like I said, that’s the example of good science, right? You put a quarter in and now a dollar comes out. You did this, you found something extraordinary, which would be mind-blowing, but then that, you know, you don’t stop there because you still wouldn’t know what it was. And, you know, then you have to ask, do I try and shoot one down? You know, do I try and capture it? Uh, you know, or do I just keep trying to do, you know, now I develop the next level of sensors that can, you know, tell me the next level of detail about it. When you talk about life in the universe and one of the possibilities is that we are alone but for most people that is like emotionally they literally just can’t wrap their heads around that. Um how do you think it might be reasonable to think that we are actually alone and or like why do you think people get that response? Uh well, I think it, you know, it’s entirely I I’m an alien optimist and and I want to also note for me it’s just as profound if we found a biosphere, a microbial biosphere on an alien world as if we find a civilization. Like I don’t really care, you know, cuz either way it’s profound because the thing is is that uh um life is so different from non-life. like, you know, living systems are so entirely different that we just want to know whether or not life itself is is an accident. You know, that it only happened here and that’s it, right? Cuz that that would be a stunning stunning possibility and and kind of weird and depressing in a lot of ways. Um so if we just found one example of life elsewhere even if it was just microbial that would actually if we find one example then there’s probably other example means we’re not an accident and there’s probably other examples even if they’re you know in other galaxies or whatever but it and because life is so creative then to me all bets are off that you know who knows where somewhere life has done amazing things. Um, but let’s say even that’s not possible. Let’s say that we really are an accident. That would be stunning. That would really be I, you know, and I think I I you know, I would have a hard time wrapping my mind around that. Um, if we searched and searched like obviously, you know, you kind you’re not going to be able to conclude that in 30 years, but let’s say we had 500 years of searching and we simply never found any evidence of any other biospheres, of any other uh activity, any other life anywhere else. Um you know on the one hand it would mean that we would really need to cherish like I I think ethically it would change everything that you know the killing of like on some level everybody needs to become a vegetarian from that point onward right because that means life is so rare and so sacred and so important that we have to do everything we possibly can to maintain it and then you know in some sense interstellar travel or the the settlement of other worlds I think becomes imperative to spread life if we’re the only life there is. You know, I take it as life is a good life is important. Uh I would say that you know then you know uh yeah everybody the conclusions everybody has to be a vegetarian and we absolutely have to start settling the stars. Yeah. I say trees are better than rocks, right? Yeah. Yeah. And and it and and that if we are truly alone then boy did we mess up. Did we mess up if we didn’t get off this planet and ensure that life could spread across the universe? Right. Right. You know, the way I’ve always looked at when people talk about settling Mars or settling the solar system, you know, some people have this idea that it’s unethical to, you know, to settle Mars. I really disagree with that. I mean, um, I mean, obviously, if there’s life on Mars, then we have to be super careful. But, you know, it’s not us settling Mars. It’s not human beings settling Mars. It’s the biosphere. It’s Earth biosphere. We’re the agent of the biosphere that’s going to be sending a green tendril out to Mars to expand it. So, you know, the whole history, as you pointed out, the whole history of Earth’s biosphere is just covering everywhere, getting any any nook and cranny on the planet life has spread to, and we should see the rest of the planets. That’s exactly, you know, we’re just the we’re just the agents of the biosphere for that. There have been proposed dozens of ways to search for techno signatures and you’ve been involved in many of the meetings that have helped figure out those ideas. There’s some master list kicking around that I really want to get my hands on, but apparently it’s not ready yet. Yes, it’s not ready yet. Yeah, but it will be soon, I think. Please send it to me when it’s ready. Uh what what do you think best bang for the buck? If you had to go all in on one technique, where would you invest? If you had to push all the chips in, what would be the single technique that you think could give us the best bang for the buck? Well, I really think it’s it’s it’s atmospheric techno signatures. It’s things associated with looking at planets, right? Because the great thing about atmospheric tech and you know atmospheric is one particular find, but I would I would say planetary, right? looking for in that first famous meeting in 2018, uh, what I called metabolic te techno signatures, techno signatures associated with a, um, with a civilization just going about its business, right? Because in the early days of SETI, because of the requirements of radio uh uh messaging or radio technology, what you really required was somebody sending you a message, somebody pointing at you with a big radio telescope and pumping lots of energy into a message or a beacon, maybe it’s not even a message, you know, aimed at somebody. And that never really made a whole lot of sense to me. It’s the it was the only thing they could do. So it was brilliant and it was pro, you know, provocative work, but I think it’s much better just to go find aliens doing what aliens are doing. And so that requires looking at planets and that’s what we can do now. We can look at alien planets, which is where aliens are probably going to live. Um, and just look for them going about their civilizationing business. So go ahead. Do they know we’re here? Uh, they probably could. they, you know, I mean, certainly if you were looking at, if you had telescopes that of the kind that we’re getting soon, like even with JWST, uh, you could, you would know that Earth has had a biosphere for billions of years. Earth would have been Earth has been recognizable as a habitable or as excuse me as an inhabited planet for a long long time. And for the last Yeah. 100 years or so. If you’re within a 100 light years, you’re you can see that uh we’re ch we’ve been changing the planet. We’ve been we’ve been adding techno signatures to the planet and there are tens of thousands of stars within 100 lighty years of us like it’s uh I think that number is pretty good. Yeah, it has 60,000 I forget the number exactly. Um yeah, so there are definitely there’s there’s there’s worlds that have you know that are within the range to see like oh oh yeah, look the city lights the back, you know, the back side of the planet is lighting up. Oh, okay. You know, if we get an email from the aliens, should we open it? That isn’t it? You know, yeah, we should open it up, but I’m not sure we should respond, right? I mean, you know, that should we even open it? Like, why? Cuz you think there’s a virus in it or something that uh in like what’s the easiest way to to deal with a potential rival? Send them instructions for a machine that will destroy their planet. Will destroy them? Yeah, I think we should open it up. We should definitely I mean I don’t think I there’s no way we could not open it up, right? We’re just too curious. Yeah, that’s what they’re real We’d have to be real careful about um about what we did with it. Yeah. I wouldn’t sure you know I mean like it’s like you know getting email, right? You know, but is what’s attached to it? Right. That’s the Do we open the attachment that maybe Yeah. Do we open the attachment? Yeah. Yeah. Um you know, this goes to that whole the dark forest hypothesis which I take seriously. I think I you know I I I’m not a big fan of medi for that reason. I think we should really be careful about because you know it’s one thing to say yes we are visible. Um but you know there’s lots of planets in this or lots of stars in the sky. It’s not clear that anybody’s looking for us directly or that’s different from sending a giant or putting up a giant flashlight or sending up a flare to announce your presence where you really tell everybody hey look hey everyone we’re here. Um I think that’s something that we should be careful about because we often have this idea that like oh aliens they’re peaceful they’re wonderful but uh that’s anybody’s guess. I mean it’s not clear you know intelligence may be associated with being a predator right that’s certainly for us it’s been you know being it’s the predatory species that are the most intelligent often. So yeah I think one one should be careful there could be wolves among the stars. A hippopotamus isn’t a predator. It will mess you up. So that’s a good point too. Yes. Great. Large grazing civilizations might also have their own problems that we need to deal with. Yeah. Yeah. I think about that. Um do you think they’ll look like us? No. No. And that’s one of the things. So that’s why especially with the you know in the book in writing the book I want I was really also aiming at people in the UFO community because I get why people you know why people who are I get why you know whether you’re in the UFO community are just really interested. I get it. Look, my whole life is about, you know, studying life in the universe. It’s super exciting, but you know, you always have to engage in the science because the science has a lot to tell you, right? And so this idea that the grays, you know, the little the little humanoid looking aliens, when you look at evolution, and we know a lot about evolution, it’s really really hard to imagine that on another planet, you would get all the accidents because, you know, evolution is a battle between um convergence and contingency. Convergence says, look, yeah, if there’s air, you know, if you’re living on a planet with an atmosphere, you’re going to get some version of wings. Wings are a great way of, you know, some evolution will stumble on wings, but it doesn’t tell you what the wings are going to look like or how many wings or what version, you know, we’re just talking about surfaces, surfaces that air can flow over. So the idea that you’re going to get So that’s that’s convergence and contingency are all the accidents, all just the, you know, a snail is sliding along and then a rock rolls over it and it dies and that’s the end of that lineage. Uh so the idea that you’re going to get all the accidents that you need to reproduce a head on shoulders with arms, you know, two arms and two legs, it’s just not going to happen or it’ be it’s so improbable that you would get this kind of configuration. You know, the problem with that view is it doesn’t do nature service. Look at all the insane varieties of life we have where everybody comes from the same last common ancestor. If you start off with a different lineage of an entirely different lineage of life, you know, it’s just not going to look like like us. So, I would I would put a lot of money down that not only are we the only humans, we’re the only humanoids. Um, and we should expect to be if we find when we actually find aliens and get to, you know, meet them, we should expect to be um surprised and and grossed out probably, but also like we’ll get it. Like I think we see that alien and we go, “Oh, I get it.” Right? That we’ll we’ll see them and it’ll make sense. Like we’ll know we’ll they have a way of seeing the electromagnetic spectrum. They have a way of of encountering sound waves. They have a way of of interacting with their environment, manipulating their environment. And we also know, you know, if we know where they came from, then they’re how they function will makes be apparent to us. We go like, “Oh, I get it.” Like I I never imagined it, but I get it. That’s exactly what it is. like definitely you you know life will be constrained by the laws of physics and chemistry and the logic of Darwinian evolution right I think those things those are all going to be universal but the p you already just look on earth and you look at the path that can take you know it’s there’s an infinite amount of variety nature is so much more creative than we are and um it’s kind of obsessed with crabs though does lot a lot of walking sideways right a lot of a lot of tentacles too um but uh Um, you know, it’s been said that if you even even if with Earth, if you went back a few billion years and rewound, you know, reround the tape and reran it, Earth’s evolution, not there’s not a single creature, single species alive today that you would that would still be that would be here. It would have just would have had it off in a different direction. There’d be fins, there’d be wings, there’d be legs, but it wouldn’t look anything like what we what we have. So, Adam, what are you obsessed with right now? Uh, Starfield, the video game. Have you played No Man’s Sky? Uh, no I haven’t. I played it when it first came out when it was not that so much better now. So there’s like Elite Dangerous Dangerous for So Elite Dangerous I played for a long time. But um I’m really I’m really digging. It took me a while to get into Starfield, but I’m really digging it. But that’s not I don’t think that’s the question you’re asking. I’m I I find that a perfectly satisfying answer. But no, I was interested. So like you know I want a sneak preview of what paper you’re working on next is my sneaky way of asking this question. Yeah. Yeah. So the so on one one whole field I’m been taking on or working in is the idea of just what is life like what separates living things from non-living things. So we got a grant recently um from the Templeton Foundation to study what’s called semantic information. So look at let’s look at life from you know this is um like Sarah Walker’s perspective. I saw people just like yesterday about this two years ago cuz our paper our paper just came out and then today I have something in um uh I wrote I wrote a piece on it for big think. Okay. So uh the idea that like you know you want to look at life not as a thing but as a process and information is the most what really separates this the idea is what really separates living from non-living systems is the the use of information. So black holes have information but they don’t use it. They don’t process it for any of their own ends. They hoard it. That’s a big That’s a So, we published our first paper just came out yesterday. Okay. That’s the one that I saw. I didn’t real I didn’t notice your name on it, but I didn’t look it carefully. Yeah. Yeah. That’s a really exciting It’s just a first step. We’re just, you know, sussing out this idea of we’re using um um a paper by Colchesky and Walpert from 2018 where they formulated the idea of a theory of semantic information and now we’re starting to apply it. So, that I’m really interested in. Um, we’re also working on a paper to ask, this is a great question about techno signatures. How long will the lunar lander be visible on the moon surface? In other words, if somebody came a billion years ago and, you know, dropped like maybe a big monolith or something on the moon, how long till just micrometeorites, it’s called gardening, that’s what they call it, gardening, would just wear it away. So, you know, for solar system, we’re just doing those calculations now. How long would something last? Um, so, uh, that’s another project that I’m working on. Do you think that, you know, your Silaran hypothesis about Earth, the math is different on the moon where we don’t have the same kinds of of weathering that’s happening on the moon? Cuz I’ I’ve, you know, I’ve heard people make the proposal that the best place for us to do a a core sample is on the moon. like dig down a couple, you know, through several hundred meters of regalith, bring it all back home and slowly you’ll get you’ll get a record of every solar flare, every gamay burst, every supernova and in theory every melted monolith. Right. Right. Uh that is exactly right. I mean, right, the earth weathering, you know, you have a few million years before pretty much the whole surface is re, you know, reworked. But on the moon, stuff’s going to sit there forever. So that’s why nobody ever done the calculation. people have done, you know, there’s lots of calculations about weathering of the regalith of the lunar soil, but nobody said, “Okay, put a plate there. Put a metal plate, you know, 3 in thick, um, and ask how long is that going to be there before it’s sort of broken apart so finely that you couldn’t see it.” Cuz people have proposed doing we have all these highresolution maps of the moon. Let’s do machine learning and see if they, you know, have can the machine find anything unusual. The machine has a no problem finding the lander. you know, you can you can give it to a computer and it’ll instantly identify, hey, that’s weird. So, that’s what we’re trying to find out. So, that’s a project that will be coming along. Yeah. And that idea that searching for anomalies like someone did something similar with they fed like the entire dark energy survey database to a machine learning algorithm and said, “Identify all the galaxies that you can and then but also tell us everything you couldn’t identify.” And those are interesting and in and there is boundless to be new things, new kinds of objects that people have never proposed before out there in the universe. It’s just a matter of it’s it’s needed in the haystack. So So the book again, the excuse me, the book again, your book, the book, the book. Did it give you a copy? Oh, there we go. The little book of aliens on sale um October 24th. Uh, it’s, you know, everything you need to know about everything there is to know right now about life in the universe. So, I hope people will be interested in buying it, including UFOs and UAPs, which, you know, I also deal with, you know, trying to look at how how science will look at them. Wonderful. Well, thanks, Adam, for taking the time to chat with me today. And good luck with the book and good luck with uh finding aliens. Great. Thank you. I’ll let you know if we find any. Perfect. Now, I’m going to talk a little bit more about sort of conclusions that I got from this conversation with Adam. But first, I’d like to thank our patrons. Thanks to David Richards, Mark Anstis, Antonio Luffy, Lara, Justin Cable, Vlad Shiplin, George Andrew M. Gross, Jeremy Matter, Josh Schultz, and Jordan Young who support us at the Master of the Universe level, and all of our other supporters on Patreon. I think we’re at a great time where we’ve had all of this speculation about whether or not there are aliens in the universe and it’s been an argument and for a while it was sort of considered something that you just don’t propose to NASA to actually go look for aliens. But in 2018 the dam broke and people started to accept or recognize SETI and just the search for techno signatures in the universe as a legitimate form of scientific study. And there are dozens of ideas that have proposed. We could see time being used on the James Webb Space Telescope to search for bio signatures and techno signatures in the atmospheres of other planetary systems. And so we are now moving into this era where what was before kind of a philosophical question, a the kind of conversation you’d have over beers with your buddies to a proper scientific question. And and of course it’s one of the most fundamental questions that we can possibly ask. Are we alone in the universe with either way that question gets answered, it is important for us. Now I’ve talked to Adam Frank several times in the past about this and other topics. And so I thought if you want to sort of continue the conversation with Adam uh one more recently we talked about that idea that he mentioned about turning asteroids into space habitats that you could take an asteroid spin it up and live on the inside of this Taurus that you’ve got. It’s a fascinating concept and could give us a practical way to live in the solar system. The other interview that I did with him was a few years ago and sort of talking about that idea of how civilizations might spread across the Milky Way. When you consider civilization starting and stopping, could we be living in a just in a gap in the spread of a galaxywide empire? And it’s sort of an interesting conversation. So enjoy both of those interviews here on the channel. All right, thanks for watching and we’ll see you next time.

  • How I Created Realistic AI Influencer from Scratch | AI Model

Take a look at this Instagram model who has 2.6 million followers. And this one has 294,000 followers. But did you know this person actually doesn’t exist in real life? This is an AI generated model created by someone who can possibly earn around $1,000 per post. So in this video, I’ll show you how you can create your own realistic AI influencer in just four simple steps. So make sure you watch the video till the end. I’m Bran from Learners and let’s get started.

Before we start, please note that this video’s purpose is to show how easy it is to create an AI influencer. However, misusing this technique could get you into trouble. So, use it wisely. All right. Now, we are going to create our AI influencer using a tool called Focus. Focus is an AI image generation software which is basically a mix of stable diffusion and midjourney. And as a result, you can use it to generate AI images in very high quality from creating realistic AI characters like these, upscaling an image or swapping faces in any image you want. With this tool, you can easily generate any kind of image you want. All right. Now, there are these different ways in which you can access this tool. The first way is to install Focus locally on your computer. If you go to the GitHub page, you can see the minimum system requirements needed to run focus locally. You can check it out and see if your system meets these requirements. If it does, I have provided a link in the description below which will guide you through the installation process. Another way to use the software is through using Google Collab. This method is also free, but you might have to face some runtime issues. I have provided the link for this too. So, if you’re interested, you can go ahead and check it out. The last method is to use focus and run diffusion. Run diffusion is a cloud-based tool where focus is already installed. You can just launch it and just use it. You can use it for free but only for a short period of time. After that you will have to pay and use it. Okay. So compared to the previous two methods using run diffusion is more accessible and easier to use. So in this tutorial I’m going to show you how to do it using run diffusion. So to create our realistic AI influencer we’re going to do four steps. The first step is to launch focus on run diffusion. To do that, just click the link below this video and it’ll take you to rundefusion.com. On Runusion, you will get a 30inut free trial to use focus. Once the free trial ends, you’ll need to pay a minimum of $5 with which you will get 10 hours of access for the tool, which means 1 hour cost 50. Also, if you want, you can use the 10 hours in one go or you can pause the timer and use it whenever you want. All right, to get started, just click free trial. and sign up with your Google account.

Here you can see we have got different tools to choose from. So let’s go to focus and click on select. Then click launch. Now let’s wait for it to launch. And it’s done. Here you can see that the timer has started running. But don’t worry, you can pause it whenever you’re not using the tool just by clicking here. Okay, once you’ve reached this page, we can go to the next step, which is to generate the AI character. And once we have the AI character, we can use it to create a video like this.

First, let’s hide the sidebar by clicking here so that we get more space to work with. All right. Now, to create an AI character, we need to describe our character like how we want it to be. The clothing, the personality, height. You can even add minor details like the color of their skin, hair, eyes, and so on. If you need help, we have a tool on gravity right that can generate the description for you. And trust me, the description it generates are really good. So, just click the link below this video and it’ll take you to this page. Now, here you need to enter the details of your AI character like how you want it to be.

Once you’ve entered that, click create content. And you can see that it has generated three different descriptions. You can go through them and copy the description you want.

Then go back and paste it here. Now click advanced and you will get these settings. Under performance tab, you will get these options to choose from. If you choose speed or extremely speed, it’ll generate the image very fast but the quality will be low. So I recommend you choose quality so that you will get the best possible AI characters. Then here select the aspect ratio you want. I’m going to choose 13 is to 19 and then drag the slider to choose the number of images you want. I’m going to choose four. Now scroll up and go to the style tab. By default these three options will be selected. We’ll just include the focus photography option which will give us more photorealistic images. If you want, you can try all these different styles and select which one you want according to your preference. Once you’re done, just click generate and this tool will start generating the AI images. You can see that it has generated an amazing AI character in four different styles. I can’t believe it’s so realistic and the quality of the image is also very good. Just select the one you like and download it by clicking here. If you’re not satisfied with the character, you can generate it again by clicking here or even try out a different prompt. A quick note, when you create an AI influencer, keep in mind that you need to generate the same character again and again to maintain consistency in whatever you post. So, choose the AI character that you want wisely. Okay. Once you’ve generated the AI character, let’s go to the next step, which is to create different variations of our character. For example, we’ve got our AI character in a park or a lawn, right? But what if let’s say you want a character to be at a music festival or catching some waves at the beach. Well, guess what? With this tool, you can do that as well. Not only the background of the AI character, but you can also change the type of dress, hairstyle, or anything else that you want. So, to do that, let’s go here and click the import image option.

Then go to image prompt. And here you need to add the image of your AI character. You can just drag and drop it from here. Then go to the bottom of the page. Click on advanced checkbox and then you will see these options below the image. Now let’s choose the face swap option. After that here you can make changes to the description like how you want the image to be. For example, I want the same image of this girl in a music festival. So I’m going to enter that here. Once you’re done, click generate.

And you can see that it has generated the image exactly the way I wanted it. Amazing, right? In the same way, you can change the prompt however you want and generate different variations with the same character. All right. Now here you can see that it has generated only the AI character and a very small portion of the background. So next let’s see how we can extend the image like this and get more of the background. So to do that, let’s go to this tab. Then drag and drop the image you want to extend. Click on all these check boxes to extend our image on all sides

    and click generate.

Now it looks much better. Okay. Next, let’s see another interesting feature which is to generate the same AI character in different poses like this. All you need is a picture with a specific pose and you can get your AI character generated in the exact same post. If you don’t have one, you can get many different photos from free stock websites like Pixels or Unsplash. So, let’s go to pixels.com. And here you can search for any image you want. I’m going to search for portrait of a girl. And as you can see, we have got different images to choose from. Just select the image you want. Download it by clicking here. Then go back to this tab. Click image prompt. Then drag and drop the image which you just downloaded. Now select Pyanni which will let the tool to copy this pose from this image and click generate.

And you can see that it has generated the AI character with the same pose that we uploaded. Amazing isn’t it? If you look closely, it feels like the face of this image is not exactly matching our AI character. So, let’s see how to fix that. Go to the inpaint outpaint tab.

Remove the old image. Now, drag and drop this image here. Then click on the brush icon. And you can adjust the size of the brush using this slider. Now, draw over your cat’s face like this. Click on this drop-down. Select improve detail and click generate.

You can see that it has improved the face of the AI character and it looks much better. Select the one that looks best and downloaded by clicking here. Not only this, in the same way you can also fix your AI character’s hair or hands in case they don’t look proper. Okay, this is how you can create different variations of your character, even with different poses. Next, we can go to the final step, which is to create a video of our AI character like this. So, to create the video, we’re going to use a tool called Face Fusion. To check it out, just open a new tab and search for Google Collab Face Fusion. Then, click this link and it’ll take you to this page. Now, here, click connect. After that, we need to run these three files. So, let’s go here, click on the play button, and click run. Anyway,

and then do the same for these two files too.

Once it’s done, here you can see that we have got the link to access the face fusion tool. Just click on it

and it’ll take you to this page. Once you’re in, just choose the face enhancer option from here.

Then click here and upload the image of the AI character you want in the video. Once you uploaded the image here, you need to upload the video in which you want to do the face swap. You can either use a video you already have or download and use free stock videos online. I’m going to upload this video from my computer. And while uploading, make sure you never use anyone else’s video without their consent as it’ll definitely get you into trouble. Once you’re done, just click start and it’ll start generating the output. Once it’s ready, if we play it, you can see that it has successfully swapped the face and we have got the video with the face of our AI character. It’s so cool, right? If you like this output, you can download it by clicking here. Now that we have the video, you can go ahead and post it on Instagram or YouTube Reads.

  • 06/03/2026 – How to build a high converting landing page for free

In this video, I’m going to show you how to build a high converting landing page for free. And by the end of this video, we’ll have a page that looks like this. And I’ll show you everything you need. The free tool to create the page, the free tool to collect leads, and also the hosting to put your page online. Now, I’ll also show a paid option at the end of this video, one that I personally using for over 5 years. Uh, but that one is completely optional for those that like and are interested in a paid solution as well. So, let me share my screen and let me show you how to do this. So, the first tool that we’re going to use, we all know this tool probably is Gemini. You can go to gemini.google.com and you can start a new conversation. Now, important is that you start the conversation on the right foot to get a high converting page. Right? So, what we’re going to do is we’re going to give a prompt here. Let me paste my prompt in here. And in this case, I’m going to tell Gemini, create me a high converting landing page that sells my video thumbnail creation service. Include images as well. I create high converting thumbnails, thumbnails that get the clicks, thumbnails that help your channel grow. Don’t struggle yourself. Let me do it for you. Again, here I say it again. Uh, make sure the landing page is focused on conversions. Now what you need to do in order to see the landing page, you need to click this plus button here. And then you can go here to canvas. You need to select this feature here. And now you can see canvas in here. And then we click on submit. And basically Gemini is creating the full page for us. It’s going to design a fullblown HTML page. Uh it is a high conversion page. But I have a nice trick uh that is going to scan the page that we create and it’s going to give feedback if the page needs modifications. Uh but I’m going to show you that later in the video as well. This takes a little while. So I’ll be back once this is finished. And check this out, guys. Uh Gemini created this full page for us. And actually, let me download it. When you click that download button, you can also open this as a full website here. Check this out. Stop struggling. Get 10 times more clicks on your videos. And this is what it created here. Your video is dead if nobody clicks here. See the magic of high CTR. So you can have the slider here. Level up in five minute. It even created the thumbnail on this page here where they can see the difference. Instant thumbnail concept planner. So you can even create a mockup concept here on this page. Now personally I would not like to have this concept planner on the page. So we can remove it later if we’d like to. And then a pricing table here. Single package offer here or a monthly retention where they can purchase packages need custom quantity. Here you can see the pricing here. Seven thumbnails 280 and you can change the price everything. And then here uh an order form where they can order the thumbnails. For example, here I want to have the full-time pro $7.99 per month and they can send the form. Now this is not working right now because we need to connect this to a web hosting service. We need this form somehow to be sent to us. But what we can do, let me close this window here. Let me go back to Gemini. But if we want to make changes, you can click here on this button here, select and ask. So what I can do here is I can select a certain area and I want to select another area because I do not want to have this part in it. So I’m going to say here uh I’m going to select this part. I’m going to say here I want you to remove the instant AI thumbnail concept planner. So there it is and I’m going to make the change. So now it’s going to recreate the page. It’s going to delete that part from the page. Now, here’s the only downside with a free model like this, uh, that it’s going to rebuild the whole page again. So, you can see here, it’s going to think again, uh, in the code here, when you go to the code section, you can see it’s starting to write the code completely over again. So, if you want to do this fast, you simply go to your preview and you go over your page and think about every change you want to make and then you’re going to write that into the prompt box so that you can make all the changes in one time. Otherwise, it’s going to rebuild the page over and over and over again. Let me show you the finished result. So, here’s the finished result. And I gave it a little bit more modifications. First of all, I wanted the page to look like more like YouTube with red and white. So, I gave it an instruction to have the theme of YouTube. I removed some areas and I also told it to make the price cheaper. So, for example, here uh three premium thumbnails for 75. So, it’s 25 each. And then the growth core, etc. Here you can also see the slider here. So, three thumbnails 25 each. And the more thumbnails they order here like 20, it’s going to become cheaper here. Now you can give instructions about the pricing simply in the prom box here. You go to the prom box, you type the change that you want to make, but this is just to show you how it works. Now we want to use this form as well and we want to receive orders, right? So what you need to do in order to send this is you need to have a service which is called web3 forms. So you go to the website, it’s web3forms.com and you need to sign up for an account. Now, once you sign up for an account, it’s going to create the form for you already. But let’s say you’re logged in, you want to create a new form. You simply go to your manage forms here. And then you’re going to click on create new form. So, I’m going to call this YouTube thumbnail. And the domain name where I want to host this. So, you need to be aware where you want to host this, but in this case, uh I’m just going to do uh local host here. So it says for testing type local host. So I’m going to do localhost here. And then where you want to send the submission to. So on the free plan uh you can send one email. Now the free plan allows you to send 250 forms here per month. So that’s pretty cool. If you have 250 orders per month, uh you can go to a paid service, right? So I’m going to click on create form. And now you can see that I get a form access key. So, what I’m going to do is I’m going to copy this key here, and I go back to the landing page that we created, and I’m going to tell Gemini to send all the form submissions to that web 3 form. So, I’m going to say here, send all the form submissions to my web 3 form access key. And then I paste my key in here. So, you get the key here. This is your form access key for this specific form. So when you manage your forms, you open the form, you work with the form, the YouTube thumbnail. You need to have this key and you provide that to Gemini here and you simply hit enter and it’s going to rebuild the code again. It’s going to write it all over again. But that’s the final time once we’re satisfied. So it’s going to add this to your website. And the page is almost ready here. There it is. So the page is ready. We’re going to download the page and we’re going to test it. So, let me click on download here and we open the page and we’re going to test our form. So, I’m going to fill out the details. So, I filled out the details here. I’m going to select the package. So, let’s say we do a full-time pro here, 375 per month, and I’m going to submit order request here. And boom, order request submitted. Thank you for securing your Click Boost. We’ve received your channel details and project brief. Check your email for the design Q invite. Now, when I go to my Gmail, you can see here that I received a new order submission here. Hello, a new form has been submitted on your website details below. Tim, my email, my channel, the package that I’ve selected, uh the niche vibe, and the notes. I’d like you to create a YouTube thumbnails for my review channel. Please reach out to me to discuss. So now you can see that we successfully uh connected web3 forms to our website so that it is sending the form submissions to us. Then the only thing that we need to do is we need to host this website on hosting and that can be done on the following website which is called netlifi.com. Here when you go to this website and I will add the links in the description as well. Uh but sign up for a free account. When you go to pricing here, you can see that they have a free plan forever to build and deploy your websites. So, I’m going to log in and I’m going to show you how you can host your websites. Once you’re logged in here, you need to go to your projects folder and you need to add a new project. And now you need to upload your file. So, what you’re going to do if you’re totally satisfied with your page, you’re going to click here on download. so that it’s downloaded to your computer and then you go back to Netlifi here and you click on browse files to upload. When you do that, you’re able to upload the file that you just downloaded from Gemini. So here you can see this is the latest one. So I’m going to click on open. And now it’s going to give me a warning that it needs to have the name index.html. So the only thing that you need to do is you need to click here on rename and deploy. And once you do that, your website is being uploaded to Netlfi and it’s ready. So you can see here Suburb Mircat and a strange name.netifi.app. But when we click on this, check this out. Our website is online. We can already send traffic to our landing page. And check this out. This is the high converting landing page. And we’re not done yet because I’m going to show you a smart trick as well. Uh but let’s first go back to Netlifi. What you can do here is you can change your domain as well. So when you go here to quick setup, you can change the the subdomain here. So you could say for example thumbnails and now it will be thumbnails.netify.app. Well, this project is not available. Probably someone else used it already. So I’m going to do project 777 just for the purpose this name is available. I can update the name now. So now my name is uh different. It’s the 777. However, if you want to go professional, you can order a domain name. Now, domain names are not free. What I just showed you here, this is the complete free option, right? I showed you how to use a free page building tool, uh how to use a free form submission tool that you connected to your page and how to host them on a subdomain for free. So, when I change this domain name to thumbnail 777.net.app, app. You can see, oh, let me redo that. You can see that your website is now on thumbnail 777.netifi.app. This is completely free. You have not you do not have to pay for it. However, you can also add a domain name you own or you can buy a new domain name. So, if you are not technical, I recommend simply to purchase a domain name on netfi.com. You simply click buy domain name. You fill out the details and you connect your domain name to netlifi.com uh and they will host it for you. You could have thumbnail thumbnailervices.com for example if that’s available and you have your website up and running. Now I told you that I had a smart trick to optimize your website, your landing page even better because we want to have a high conversion landing page, right? So what we’re going to do is the following thing. We’re going to copy our website here. I’m going to click copy. And now we’re going to use the tool. It’s a paid tool, but you can use it for free for 14 days. And it’s called Swipe Pages, which has a AI page builder as well, but it has way more than that. And there’s a link in the description where you can get 14 days free access to Swipe Pages and Swipe Genie. Uh, and I’m also going to have a discount code in the description below for an extra 25% discount if you decide to pick this up through me. Uh, but you can use this for 14 days and we’re just going to use this for uh, the page that we just created. We can use for free for this page to optimize it and then we’re done. Uh, but let me show you how it works. So, let me log in. And once you’re logged in, you will see this screen. Now, this is also an AI page builder similar to Gemini, but it works way easier. What we’re first going to do is we’re going to go to the strategize button here. And then check this out. It has a landing page crow audit. Get specific fixes to increase conversions. We want to have a high conversion landing page, right? So now you can see here, perform a crow audit of landing page URL. What we’re going to do is we’re going to paste our landing page URL in here and give me specific prior uh prioritized recommendations to increase conversions. So, this is the only thing that we have to do. And now it’s going to scan our website. Check this out. It’s going to do an audit on our website. It’s going to take a screenshot of that website and it’s going to give going to give us full feedback about this website. So, you can see here it took five screenshots. It sees my website. It’s going to tell me everything, but I’ll be back once this is finished. And by the way, check this out. It is not finished yet, but check this out. It’s reviewing sources. The best place to hire thumbnail designers, Reddit, social media graphic designers, how to hire YouTube thumbnail designers, uh, reviewing sources like this, efficiency of thumbnail test. So, it’s going to go to external sources to make this page convert better. So, check this out. It’s ready. Here we got a visual report here for our website. So, here it says the first step click boost operates in the competitive mid tired thumbnail market $15 to $25. Well, the problem agitate solution framework is solid. The site faces critical trust deflict. So here you can see the top priority um fishing anxiety move from a netifi subdomain to a custom domain and replace stock lifestyle photography with aggressive real world portfolio assets and this is uh a solid feedback that we’re getting right u of course you want to be if you have a service like this on a real domain name so we need to fix that right and also if we look at the website here oh this is the checklist Ready? If we look at the website here, you can see we need to replace this image, right? It isn’t good enough. So, Swipe Agents gives us a full report. Also, it did the research. So, it’s the competitive landscape. So, what is the pricing? So, currently ClickBoost, we are charging 15 to $25 and the budget providers between two and five, but premium agencies $60. Uh and then the value proposition here anchors uh speed and bulk and here the CTR mastery case studies. I personally have CTR master uh case studies as well. So we can make those modifications on our website as well. Uh stock mockups grid a grid of noise and here datadriven overlays and high priority quick wins. So the URL fix we need to fix that. Kill the unsplash do not have unsplash pictures on your website. So it gives you a full report with changes that you can make here. So you can make those modifications to your website and also here the final implementation checklist. You get a checklist that you can implement to your website to make it a high converting website. Now I’m not going to show you all these steps how to do that but basically you can go back and make the changes here on this page. Just tell Gemini what it needs to change and it will uh be a high conversion page. Now it also comes here with a final report and that will look like this. So it gives you a PDF with all the changes here like the price points that you can do. Also it suggests here in this document for example it says hey you need to uh have a URL which is not netlifi go to a domain name for example clickboost.io. So it’s giving you uh suggestions as well. So here you get the full list of modifications that you can do to your website. Uh and it’s going to make those changes for you and that’s how you create a website completely free a high converting landing page for free. Now the second option I also told you that I wanted to show you a paid option and that is in this same platform. So when I go back here to the start I go to pages here uh you can create a page. When I click on the plus here, instead of going to strategize, and by the way, you can do a lot more here. So, you can also do a competitor analysis, you could do a lead genen funnel strategy with Swipe Genie, uh buyer personas, messaging and positions, landing page copy. You can check that all here in the strategize section. It’s super powerful, but I’m not going to show that in this video because we’re talking about high converting landing page. So, we go to create here and we simply going to type. You can choose between those, a lead genen page, a sales page, a VSSL page. But basically, we’re going to paste the same prompt in here. And as you can see here, it’s going to do all the research again, reviewing sources here, uh, search for benefits, etc. And check this out. It’s ready. It has created all the images for the page as well because I told it to do so. And check this out. This is the new page here. And I’m not totally satisfied yet with this page. It’s just the first draft that is giving me here. Uh but it looks good, right? And again, we can tell this to create a YouTube theme theme as well. But what I want to do here is I don’t like this YouTube thumbnail section here. So when I click on this section here, you can see it selects the portfolio automatically. And now I can ask to make changes to this portfolio section. So I’m going to say I do not like the layout of the portfolio section. Please recreate it where there is a main uh where there is a main thumbnail with a slider that shows the before and after. Also, the image layout should look well aligned. So, I’m going to send this. And now it’s going to make changes to only this part of the page. And there you go. Here it recreated this section. I think it looks way better here. And it created the slider here where I can see the before or the before and the after. And of course, you can replace these images. You just use the page builder to create these images. Of course, you want to have your own thumbnails in here. But the cool thing about Swipe Pages is you can click on this pencil and now you can upload your own images, your own thumbnails that you’ve created here inside this platform. So you can see here it made the changes. I’m going to do one more change here because I don’t like the colors. I want to have the YouTube style. So I’m going to request that as well. So, I’m going to say, I like you to change the theme of this page to a YouTube theme. YouTube is mainly red and white. And I also say here that I want to bring the pricing down so it understands everything I say and it’s going to recreate the page. This is ready in a few minutes. And there you go. Now, it has a black and white theme. It’s looks completely different. But this way you can test and look what looks good because this only is costing you minutes and it’s changing things on the fly for you. You can see the pricing has changed here. People can order here through the form. Uh but you can make modifications so so quickly. Here is another example that I created for another uh YouTube thumbnail services website just to show you different designs that you can create here. So this one is a little bit different. Um but you can see how easily you can make the changes simply type here in swipe pages to make those changes. Now when you want to publish a website on swipe pages you simply click here on publish and then you can uh publish this directly to your own domain. So this is my domain here and I’m going to call this thumbnail services here and I’m going to hit publish. And now my website is published. Boom. Done. And when I make changes, let’s say I remove this this dot here, then I can click on publish again. And now my page is republished after I made a change. And that’s why, yeah, like I said, this solution is way easier. And you can also manage your page. Now, let me show you the page here. You got your website. This is the full website here as you can see. And again, you can do the same thing. You can copy this URL. you can do uh an inspection on your website to hear what changes you need to make. So let’s let’s say we put this through. We say we want to have a crawl audit here of this page as well. Let me fast forward this. And as you can see here, I got a report as well for this website. You can see every every time the design is different, but it mentions different things. So what I also can say here, so it has all different kind of points because I have the chat here. I can also ask write me a prompt that I can send to the AI page builder to implement the changes it needs to make uh to make this a high converting page. So I’m going to send this and now I’m going to use the prompt that it writes and I’m going to send that to swipe pages. So you can see here it comes with a a lot of instructions here. Act as a senior crow specialist. I need you to restructure and rewrite the YouTube thumbnail service page to maximize conversions. And it’s going to do all of that. But what I’m going to do simply, I’m going to paste this. I’m going to copy this here. And I go back to the page builder and simply going to put that in here. And I’m going to send this. And now it can make the changes for me. And there you go. The page has been recreated. This is the end result. Um, I asked it to make it the dark theme because I like the dark theme better and it swapped everything. Uh, but check this out. It applied changes. So I also made changes. So I told it to create another uh before and after. And check this out. I think this looks way better 30 days later here. So you have the slider here, the before thumbnail, the after thumbnail. I also made some changes for this thumbnail. But it applied the changes. And one of the changes that it created here was it added this whole section which is super powerful. Uh because now it says designed by a practioner uh not just a designer. Uh because I’m a YouTuber myself. It knew that information about me and it said, “Hey, you need to use that in your advantage to make this a high converting landing page.” So, it did that. I think it’s pretty cool. So, I added my own picture in here. It generated another person, but I replaced it with my own uh picture here. It changed the pricing here. Check this out. Also, the thumbnail pro guarantee risk-free partnership. So, I think it looks pretty good the way it is right now. Check this out. We have a high converting landing page uh built with swipe pages which was the second option. So guys, I hope you like this video. Uh please if you like it, give it a thumbs up. It helps me to rank my video on YouTube to get views to this video. Subscribe to my YouTube channel if you haven’t done yet. Uh I do more videos like this. I will do more videos like this. I also do a lot of product reviews, marketing related products. Um so yeah, might be interesting to you as well. So, hit the notification bell so you get notified each time I upload a new video. For now, thank you so much for your uh for your attention. And if you have any questions, write them in the comments below. And thanks for watching and see you in my next video. Kiss.
