09/29/2026 – Create Hyper Cinematic Logo Animations in After Effects

Are you ready to create the most hyped [music] up logo animations ever? Well, no matter the logo, we can now easily use After Effects with this new update and maybe a little creative buffoonery to [music] make the most cinematic logo reveals and moments. All right, the first order of action is to beg your client for an SVG or like a similar vector format of their logo. So, with that said, you may just be able to rightclick, go to create, and choose create shapes from vector [music] layer. And now this will give you a shape layer in which you can actually make 3D and go to the extrusion options. But of course make sure that you’re set up for advanced 3D my fellow ducklings. So obviously we can increase the extrusion depth. You know maybe it’s like a reasonable reasonable amount like 50. Don’t push it into like the hundreds unless you like you want like a fat logo. But I also like convex and maybe like a bevel around 10 to really pull out those beautiful edges. Now the next step is texturing. Under material assignment, we can attach an image to our 3D logo to fully texturize it in moments. And at this moment in time, this feature is only available in the After Effects beta. So you can get it now or if you’re watching this in the future, you know, After Effects should have this feature built in. But as you can see, we can apply materials to the front, side, back, and even the bevel. Remember, you can get free highquality textures when you go to the good old Adobe community asset site. And you know, you can look for like gold textures or even like metallically type images or whatever. So once we have these materials attached accordingly, if we go to the properties panel, we may be able to change the color of the texture if it’s allowed for that specific material. But for the best tip, be sure to scale down each texture so we can really pull out those sharp details. And using multiple textures and colors can really, you know, pull out the edges in the overall design. But to go hyper crazy here, let’s duplicate the logo and push it forward here in Z position space by a touch. And then turn off the bevel to texture the logo even further. And if you’re feeling extra spicy, go ahead and duplicate this again for the backside of the logo. And finally, parent all this to the original logo layer. And this way, if you do like any rotation or movement, it will all be repositioned together. But now with our logo out of the way, we’re ready to make a cinematic scene. Though you can produce cinematic motion graphic logos and scenes with my new logo pro pack for After Effects and Premiere Pro, you can just drop in a template for our motion duck extension and drop in your client logo. Change some colors with the custom controls. And that’s pretty much it. Now, of course, we have over 50,000 templates, transitions, and presets of our motion duck extension, all here in After Effects and Premiere Pro. Everything is below. And if you do pick up anything, thank you so much for supporting my channel as I don’t do any of those like sponsorships here. But all right, like any good 3D scene, we’re nothing without lighting. So like many times that like I do here on these videos, go ahead and create an environment light with shadows enabled, of course, and simply we can dive right into the rotation and find the value in which the top part of our logo starts to [music] be like really light reflective. And one thing you might want to do is lighten the color of your front logo to make that reflectiveness even easier to pull out. And and if you know me, I love strong backlights. So if you want, try to create a parallel light with shadows off with intensity maybe around 200 or so. Then we just need to push this light back in Zpace to lightly light the back of the logo. But back on track, of course, the main thing I suggest for shadows is to go ahead and create a solid background. And if you want like a black background, just make it very dark, just not pure black. I find that to work really well. Then create a very large plane with that 3D tool and set X rotation to 90° and lower it just under your logo. Then set the compositing options to accept shadows only. And this is going to add like a little shadow and depth to the overall scene. Now, the one thing that works handinhand with lighting is the glow effect on an adjustment layer. And then we’re just really going to have to finesse this effect like crazy. So try maxing out the threshold slightly increase the radius and use like a low intensity. Then duplicate, increase the radius, and finally duplicate again. Reset it. Then nearly max the radius and find like a decent threshold. Now this is a good base glow, but we really need to pull out like some of that gold. So let’s go ahead and duplicate, reset, and place it back at the top. And then we’ll nearly max out the threshold again. This time maybe we’ll use a radius around 100 and an intensity around three. Then we’ll go to glow colors and set it to A and B colors and choose that kind of gold color. You guessed it. Again, we’ll duplicate this. Increase the radius and duplicate again. And then increase the radius even more. But okay, great. No more glows. Uh it knows a lot here. And don’t worry about exact settings. Just kind of feel it out and figure out what works best for your scene. Now, if you want, you could use the curves effect just like slightly dial in the color in your favor and maybe the noise effect if you wish. And that’s it. You know, I’m pretty much going to be banned from using the glow effect here. You may unsubscribe if you ever see me use that effect again. Actually, don’t do that. So, with After Effects new feature for texturing 3D layers, we can create a variety of objects now like rings. [music] So, just by using a stroke only circle, we can make it 3D, set it X rotation to 90° and lower it as needed. Now, with circular like objects, you can’t just increase the extrusion depth and make it 3D. [music] We need to finesse this a bit and pretend we actually have some rz. I don’t know if that made sense. So, set the bevel style to convex and the stroke width to exactly 0.1, but cool. Now, if you want, you can use textures or you can use like the old school way of making things look gold by using a light yellow color and maxing out the specular shinyness under the material options. just a more you know I suppose [music] right but for further shape customization we can use the trim path property in the shape layer and [music] decrease the end amount to like really open this baby up now you can duplicate this layer increase the ellipse size randomize rotation and continue duplicating until you have a bunch of rings as long as you don’t end up with the three rings of marriage you know you’re good that’s the engagement ring the wedding ring and [music] the suffer ring all right with all my dad jokes out of the way finally create a 3D null object and parent all the rings to it and animate the Y rotation to get these bad boys spinning. But also think about how you can use like the simple circle with a fill instead to create like that nice textured base and even, you know, get a thicker ring around the middle. All these ideas are on the table. You know, it’s all yours for the taken. But now to tie the scene together with animation, let’s go ahead and create a 3D null object and a camera layer that’s going to be parented to that null. But all right, you can use the nullles like Y rotation to spin around the scene if you like. And if you want to use that and maybe animate the camera with the dolly torch cursor tool, you know, you can also zoom into the scene. Whatever you want to do though, think about animating your light intensity to essentially turn the lights on with your starting animation. But again, you know, the world is yours for the taken. Though, what you should absolutely do is enable depth of field on the camera layer. Make sure your focus distance is good. And you can adjust the aperture if you like. And we could duplicate all these rings, scale them up, and push them back into the background to have even more elements and [music] depth. But finally, for some quick particles, I suggest creating like a yellowish solid and using the CC ball action effect. Just set the grid spacing to three, the ball size to seven, and you know, you can max out the scatter if you wish. And [music] finally, all click the stopwatch for twist angle and use like the time asterric 2 expression [music] to animate these. Really cool. And by the way, for like golden regular 2D text, just use a gradient ramp or an overlay with a white color and a yellow color. And then place the title underneath your adjustment layer and you’re going to be good to go for creating truly cinematic logo animations like never before. [music] Subscribe to be the best and always be creating.
